Currently there is a fair amount of duplication between the HyP3 SDK and the HyP3 API spec. In particular, the HyP3.submit_* and HyP3.prepare_* methods in https://github.com/ASFHyP3/hyp3-sdk/blob/develop/src/hyp3_sdk/hyp3.py duplicate the parameters from the corresponding job specs. There should be a way to automatically generate the parameters in the SDK from the API spec.
