Version 3.10 doesn't work on Tahoe 26.5.2 - the 2 media extensions no longer install

Version 3.09 works fine for me. Just installed 3.10 and it doesn't work at all. Upon hitting "Refresh", a popup window warns me to enable the 2 media extensions, which are now not present. Reverting to v3.09 works fine.

Just like the past 5 (6? 7? 10?) releases, rebooting my MacBook fixed it. Exact steps:

• Update QuickLook Video via homebrew
• Run QuickLook Video via Spotlight Search
• Hit Refresh, get popup error (note that the popup was only implemented 1-2 versions ago. Previously it would just "fail" silently)
• In Finder, thumbnail preview and quicklook stop working
• Open Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Extensions: By App > QuickLook Video, confirm that all options have disappeared except one (Spotlight search?)
• Reboot
• Run QuickLook Video via Spotlight Search > Hit Refresh: no error popup
• Confirm that Media Extensions options are back in Settings > ... > QuickLook Video

Thank you; I have saved your instructions for the next(?) release.

Interestingly, I just now re-installed 3.10 over the top of 3.09. This time when I performed a "Refresh" I got no error popup, the 2 extensions were found to be installed, and the QL functionality now works fine. I hadn't rebooted since before my posting yesterday.

I shall reboot anyhow, just to be sure.

Finder automatically does a bunch of Launch Services registration when you manually copy an app into Applications. It’s possible that Homebrew doesn’t do any or all of this. I’ll investigate.

@minimondo are you also using Homebrew to install?

@Marginal no, in this case v3.10 wasn’t yet in Homebrew, so I grabbed the DMG off GitHub.

Ok I think I may be able to force LaunchServices registration anyway within the app in either case.

@Marginal I just realised that I omitted a possibly significant step...

My initial (unsuccessful) upgrade from 3.09 to 3.10 wasn't a manual install from the GitHub DMG; I did it via the "Updatest" app. This app displays and uses the correct GitHub download link for the version, but perhaps it doesn't do the Launch Services registration(?)

My 2nd successful upgrade to 3.10 was a manual download/extract/copy of the binary using Finder.
