title JPPrison Quickstart: Prison Mine Up and Running Fast
sidebarTitle Quick Start
description Go from a fresh JPPrison install to a fully working prison mine with economies and rewards in five minutes using this step-by-step guide.

Once JPPrison is installed and your server has booted, this guide walks you through standing up a fully working prison mine — complete with block prices, economies, and pickaxe rewards — from scratch. By the end you will have a region where players can mine, earn currency, and level up their pickaxes.

If you haven't installed JPPrison yet, start with the Installation guide first.

Use WorldGuard to define the boundaries of your mine. Select the two corners of your mine with the WorldEdit wand (`//wand`), then create the region:
```bash
/rg define <region-name>
```

Next, enable JPPrison enchant rewards inside that region so players earn currency and XP when they mine there:

```bash
/rg flag <region-name> jpprison-enchants allow
```

Without this flag, pickaxe enchants fire visually but no rewards are paid out. Any region without the flag is treated as a non-rewarding zone (useful for spawn or free-roam areas).
Open `plugins/JPPrison/autosell.yml` and define how much each block type pays into your economy when mined. For example:
```yaml
# plugins/JPPrison/autosell.yml
economy: tokens       # which economy receives the proceeds
blocks:
  STONE: 10
  COAL_ORE: 50
  IRON_ORE: 100
  GOLD_ORE: 250
  DIAMOND_ORE: 1000
```

You can route different block types to different economies (e.g., common blocks pay Tokens while rare ores pay Gems) by adding an `economy` key per block entry. See the Autosell documentation for the full syntax.
JPPrison creates default economy files in `plugins/JPPrison/economies/` on first boot (typically `tokens.yml` and `gems.yml`). Open them to adjust starting balances, display names, and reward multipliers.
To create a brand-new custom currency in-game without editing files, use:

```bash
/jpprison economy create <name>
```

This scaffolds a new economy file which you can then fine-tune in the `economies/` folder. Each economy is completely independent — its own balance storage, rewards, and optional Vault bridge.
Open `plugins/JPPrison/config.yml` to tune the global behaviour of JPPrison:
```yaml
# plugins/JPPrison/config.yml
pickaxe:
  xp-curve: EXPONENTIAL    # LINEAR, EXPONENTIAL, or FLAT
  base-xp-per-block: 1
  level-cap: 100
prestige:
  enabled: true
  requirement-type: BLOCKS  # BLOCKS or BALANCE
  base-requirement: 100000  # blocks or balance needed for first prestige
features:
  pets: true
  minions: true
  autominer: true
  loot-chests: true
  momentum: true
```

Toggle any feature you don't want to use to `false` — JPPrison won't register its commands or listeners, keeping your server lean.
Apply all your config changes without restarting:
```bash
/jpprison reload
```

Then give yourself a set of test items to verify every system is working:

```bash
# Grant 1 000 orbs (pickaxe XP currency)
/jpprison orb give <player> 1000
# Grant 3 Power Shards
/jpprison shard give <player> power-shard 3
# Grant 5 Nuke bombs
/jpprison bomb give <player> nuke 5
# Grant 10 minutes of autominer time
/jpprison autominer give <player> 10m
# Grant a Zombie minion with 10 minutes of fuel and tier 2
/jpprison minion give <player> zombie 10m 2
```

Use each item in your mine region to confirm it behaves as expected and pays into the correct economy.
Head into the mine region you created and start mining. You should see:
- **Autosell messages** in chat showing how much currency each block paid.
- **XP gain** feedback on your pickaxe (action bar or chat, depending on your config).
- **Combo/Momentum** counter ticking up if you mine without stopping.

If something isn't triggering, double-check that the `jpprison-enchants allow` flag is set on the correct region and that the block types you're mining have prices in `autosell.yml`.
Players can run `/prison balance` at any time to see their current balance across all active JPPrison economies. Point new players to this command first — it is the quickest way to verify that autosell and rewards are flowing correctly.
