dev; reviewed source revision: 165dea4057d631b254a2f31f91ffc1b65704f035 - Incoming interval: 69ee0d07…165dea40, 29 commits and 14 changed files. Excluding yesterday's report-only commit/file gives 28 product/code/documentation commits and 13 files. Excluding both yesterday's report and regexp fix gives 27 new author commits and 11 files. Today's fix and report are additional commits, not part of this incoming interval.
- Result: one pre-existing bigint formatting allocation-error contract defect confirmed and fixed across its small and divide-and-conquer paths in 54829407. One existing allocation-failure fixture was extended; it was not executed.
- Strict static source, diff, caller, interface, test-source, configuration and existing-CI-evidence review. No project execution, build, test, benchmark, repository script, workflow dispatch or rerun was performed. Automatic CI and commit-author validation claims are separate evidence.

Yesterday's reviewed revision 69ee0d07 now has 2 successful, 1 failed and 8 cancelled workflows. Its cancellations and yesterday's running states are not today's source result. All eight failures below were independently observed on 165dea40; the available metadata establishes failed stages, while only the Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO witness has a fully retrieved failure log.
- Read root
AGENTS.md,docs/local-dev.md,.github/ci-policy.md, the relevant compiler-development guidance, and translation/SDK contracts. Root and scoped ancestor inventories found no applicable nested AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING instructions on the reviewed paths. Build/test guidance was read but not executed. - Reviewed all 63 aggregate Frontend.cpp diff hunks, with exact-source inspection of function-reference casts and designator sources, const-qualified array binding, empty-base result exclusion, pinned SDK class-template imports, call-local unevaluated array indexing, conditional swap trait collection, and source-completion queues.
- Traced retained special-member selection, selected-operation/default dependencies, and consumed-signature/query completion. Read the new IsolateSymbols selection hooks, their complete AuditArchiveTests patch, Frontend.h descriptors and Consumer callbacks. This checks source ownership, selected defaults, destruction, lazy bodies, failure completion and bounded worklists, not execution equivalence.
- Reviewed all 17 MathSDK.cpp diff hunks (1,236 additions / 96 deletions), exact pinned array/exchange/swap/is_swappable/pointer_traits/addressof/nothrow-trait headers and relevant consumers. Array query admission remains call-local; evaluated bounds and operation restrictions remain separate. Conditional swap retains both operation-trait sources even after a false first result.
- Reviewed all changed Lowering.cpp and Project.cpp hunks, including operand snapshots before exchange reads, explicit subscript argument positioning, discarded function-cast effects, and canonical conversion-target/noexcept identities. Read surrounding function-value and identity consumers.
- Read the latest lazy-defaulted-operation commit's complete test patch: positive, negative and value/lifetime fixtures, including selected copy fallback, explicit outer specifications, defaults, field initializers, nested queries, hidden source and actual-use boundaries. Also sampled array conditional-swap, element/empty-element/at query-to-runtime leakage and deep-qualification controls. The full 26,316-line incoming test-file delta was not exhaustively audited.
- High-risk std rotation traced both bigint formatting branches, public declarations, checked-copy/allocation helpers, division and multiplication fallback paths, output consumers and the existing MathBigAllocationFailure registration. Rechecked the previous regexp fix and regression-source patches; they are unchanged by today's work.
- No additional statically proven translator regression was established. No speculative frontend widening, SDK witness substitution, broad refactor, dependency or CI/security configuration change was made.
The public formatting contract requires an error result on allocation failure. The old formatter used void scratch-copy/division operations without consistently checking failure before publishing output. Static control-flow inspection shows that allocation failure could reach the success return with incomplete formatting.
54829407 uses the existing checked copy in the small path and the existing thread-local failure mechanism around divide-and-conquer copy/emission. It stops further chunk emission after failure, restores the previous tracker, cleans up and returns an error before copying scratch output to the caller. Existing safe power-table/buffer and multiplication fallbacks remain available.
The extended test_big_oom.c source covers both signs, small-copy failure, zero formatting, every allocation in a healthy 160-word hexadecimal D&C path, exact successful fallback, unchanged output on error, unchanged input and subsequent successful calls. The existing StdLibTest.MathBigAllocationFailure registration already includes it. This is unexecuted regression source, not a passing test result. That selected large case exercises Knuth division inside D&C; default Burnikel–Ziegler coverage and non-null prior-tracker restoration were not regression-tested. The latter was checked by source inspection.
The exact remote fix commit, two-file diff and complete file contents were read back and verified. Its automatic-CI snapshot is recorded separately below; pre-fix results do not validate the fix.

| macos-arm64-neverc-build | Failed at “Build network product examples”; compiler tests and network gates skipped |
| python-plugin-bindings | Linux x64 “Check plugin global state” failed; 7 other jobs succeeded; later Linux relocation/install checks skipped |
| windows-arm64-neverc-build-clang-lto | Failed at real-COFF witness audit; postbuild Setup evidence failure is downstream |
| lint-docs | Successful: navigation and documentation facts |
| cpp-frontend-tools | Successful across three archive-audit jobs |
| VBS enclave differential CI | Successful across its three jobs |
The current Windows ARM64 Clang/LTO log ran 24 witness tests and failed four configurations (MSVC/Clang at O0/O2): consumed MSVC 14.51.36231 cmath has no line matching the fixture's expected _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) form. Compiler build, runtime, compiler-test and packaging/relocation steps were skipped. This is direct evidence for this SHA, not an inference from yesterday.
The current navigation log reports all 16 layout regressions passing and the documentation inventory above. The other seven failed job logs could not be retrieved through the available connector (transport errors; three representative retries also failed). Failed-step metadata is verified, but their underlying diagnostics and any relationship to this interval remain unconfirmed. The small Python driver-log artifact was readable but did not contain the global-state failure's diagnostic.
Fix revision 54829407: at 2026-10-05 01:13 UTC, 12 automatic workflows were observed (2 successful: lint-docs and lint-test-deps; 9 in progress; 1 queued), with 21 check runs (4 successful, 13 in progress, 4 queued). These collections had empty second pages. No fix-specific runtime pass is established. These are automatically scheduled observations, not tests initiated by this review. No CI skip marker was added to either commit. Refresh exact-SHA results before using either revision for release decisions.
-
Diagnose the completed platform and plugin failures from their actual diagnostics. Four platform test gates, two network-example builds and Linux Python global-state checking now have failed outcomes, with the missing-log limits above.
- Dependency: retrieve the failing test summaries/example diagnostics and plugin global-state evidence for this exact revision; distinguish code defects, environment failures and downstream skips before changing source.
- Acceptance: each failure has an evidence-backed cause and scoped correction, followed by completed authorized exact-revision platform/plugin gates. Skipped gates remain explicit. No owner or deadline is inferred.
-
Resolve the consumed Windows SDK witness mismatch and obtain native evidence for today's bigint fix.
- Dependency: inspect the actual consumed SDK declaration/provenance rather than guessing a replacement; the formatter's new source-only fixture also needs matching-revision execution evidence through authorized validation.
- Acceptance: all four witness configurations and previously blocked compiler/package gates have completed evidence without weakened source checks; bigint failure/fallback cases pass on the supported platform matrix. Static proof alone is not runtime validation.
-
Reconcile #16 acceptance and translation documentation with the implemented boundaries. The roadmap remains open; 82 translations remain unfinished.
- Dependency: map bounded P0–P3 gates to implementing commits, positive/negative fixture source and completed native/install evidence. Keep query-only, runtime and unsupported boundaries separate.
- Acceptance: completion claims cite matching-revision evidence, unsupported gates remain visible, and real translation content is completed. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline; navigation success is not full C++/STL or translation completeness.
- All-state issue/PR collections returned 18 issue/PR records and 8 PRs, with empty second pages at page size 100; PRs are excluded from issue totals. Latest PR #20's review/comment collections were empty. No exhaustive review of older closed-PR discussions is claimed.
- The compare endpoint enumerated all 29 commits and 14 changed-file records; its second commit page was empty. GitHub omitted the aggregate TranslateTests.cpp patch; the latest commit's complete fixture patch and selected exact-source fixtures were used. Full Frontend.cpp/MathSDK.cpp/Lowering.cpp sources were retrieved through Git blobs/contents reads.
- Exact-source workflow/check collections and all 11 workflow job collections were exhausted with empty second pages. The prior-source workflow collection was also exhausted. Four targeted artifact collections were exhausted; only the small Python driver log was downloaded and read.
- The whole-repository recursive tree read failed; complete untruncated scoped inventories covered
neverc(2,582 entries),tests(1,046),utils(142),.github(64), andstd(621). No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed. - Publication precheck confirmed push permission, unprotected
dev, and the sole visible ruleset disabled. Latest head/blob state was rechecked before writes; unrelated history and contributor text were retained. No permissions or rulesets were changed. - This is a bounded review, not a whole-repository audit or release certification. Earlier unchanged translator/std subsystems, all new fixtures, default BZ allocation-failure execution and the seven unavailable failure logs remain outside complete verification. No builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, active CI actions, dependencies/security changes, issue mutation, merge or deployment were performed.

Excluding the October 3 report-only commit, the product/code/documentation delta is 59 commits and 18 files. Today's report-only update is not product progress. The later fix 151cff63 adds one commit changing two already-listed files; it is separate from the 60-commit incoming interval.
- Result: two statically proven regexp defects fixed; one unexecuted boundary-regression source added.
- Strictly static source, diff, caller, interface, test-source, configuration and existing-log review. No project execution, builds, tests, benchmarks, repository scripts, workflow dispatch or reruns were performed. Existing automatic CI and commit-author validation claims are separate evidence.

The previous source revision 2d65e5b1 now has 2 successful, 1 failed and 8 cancelled workflows. These are historical outcomes, not the current revision's results. In particular, the current Windows failure below was independently read at 69ee0d07; it is not a carried-forward inference.
-
Resolve the current Windows ARM64 cmath witness blocker using the consumed SDK. The exact-source job ran 24 fixture tests and failed four configurations, MSVC/Clang at O0/O2. The fixture expects one
_GENERIC_MATH2(pow)occurrence, but MSVC 14.51.36231's consumedcmathhas zero matching lines. Compiler build, runtime build, compiler tests and package/relocation steps were skipped; the postbuild Setup-contract failure is downstream.- Dependency: inspect the actual consumed SDK declaration and provenance, not a guessed replacement from another SDK version.
- Acceptance: explain the header-shape difference without weakening provenance checks; obtain completed exact-revision evidence for all four witness configurations and the previously blocked compiler/package gates. No owner or deadline is assigned by this report.
-
Reconcile native evidence for the expanded conditional-move and std boundaries. The interval extends copy/move overload sets, access/friend ownership, lazy defaults and conversion-result exclusion; it also changes regexp, big integers, netip, HTTP/2 and QUIC.
- Dependency: completed exact-SHA platform/runtime/installed-package evidence; running, queued and cancelled jobs do not establish a pass. The static review does not authorize additional execution.
- Acceptance: each advertised boundary cites matching-revision positive/negative and runtime evidence, with skipped and unfinished gates explicit. Archive-audit or documentation success alone is insufficient.
-
Reconcile issue #16 acceptance and remaining translations. The roadmap is still open, with no new comments or ownership changes. Passing navigation does not complete 82 unfinished translations or establish full C++/STL support.
- Dependency: map the bounded P0–P3 gates to implementing revisions, reviewed fixtures and native/install evidence. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline.
- Acceptance: completion statements retain unsupported boundaries and cite concrete evidence; prioritize real translation content rather than filler links.
- Read root
AGENTS.md,docs/local-dev.mdand.github/ci-policy.md. RootCONTRIBUTING.mdreturned 404. Root inventory and complete scoped recursive inventories forneverc, tests, utilsand.githubfound no additional applicable AGENTS/CONTRIBUTING files. Repository build/test guidance was read but not executed under the static-only instruction. - Inspected every aggregate changed hunk in
neverc/lib/Translate/Cpp/Frontend/Frontend.cpp: unrelated class/function/friend access contexts, empty-base checks, incomplete friend identities, copy/move candidate sets, lazy defaults, conversion eligibility, value-argument destruction, and record/array-reference exclusion. Read full exact-revision source around the changed helpers and tracedutilityValueAdapterSource, signature collection andcheckConsumedOperationSignature/completion-queue consumers. - The latest array-const change and its full test patch were inspected: terminal and intermediate pointer const, pointed-to arrays, aliases/redeclarations, multiple conversion results and constructors, owner friendship, lazy exceptions/defaults, source retention, actual-call rejection and temporary lifetime. Read the incomplete-class-friend commit's positive, negative and runtime fixture source plus current friend traversal/identity consumers. Test source and commit-author execution claims are not tests performed by this review.
- Read the relevant
utils/translate-frontends/docs/cpp-core-v2.mdcontracts, including live conversions, scalar and record arguments, fixed-array rank/bounds/reference categories, pointer-element qualification and original source retention. - High-risk std rotation covered all changed regexp range construction/merging, UTF-8 sequence splitting, last-byte bitmap merging, shared endpoints, repetition cloning, first-byte filtering and sticky allocation failures; changed normal/OOM fixture source; bigint digit parsing and both formatting paths with public declarations; netip address/port parsing and pre-multiply overflow guards; HTTP/2 HEADERS/trailer state transitions, HPACK, handler/reset/reaping/CONTINUATION callers; and QUIC PTO/idle/draining/address-validation callers. These are bounded path reviews, not global race-freedom, Unicode differential or transport/security certification.
- Rechecked the unchanged Windows witness at
tests/neverc/CppFrontendToolchainTests.py:2710–2810, the CI scheduling contract, and current Windows/navigation job logs and step states. - Fixes: 151cff63 limits per-atom UTF-8 lookahead to four bytes, preventing repeated suffix scans after the class-size expansion, and moves the range-capacity overflow guard before signed doubling. Both follow directly from source/caller analysis. Allocation error signaling is preserved; no timing or execution claim is made.
- Added one source-only helper-boundary regression in
tests/neverc/std/test_regexp_oom.cfor early rejection, sticky failure, unchanged state and no allocation. It was not executed; ordinary non-sanitized execution alone would not reliably expose the original signed-overflow ordering. - Remote commit diff and both complete file contents were read back and matched the intended changes. The fix commit used
[skip ci]; at 01:07 UTC its exact SHA had zero workflows and zero check runs. Pre-fix CI is not validation of this fix. - No other new statically proven regression was established. A possible pre-existing bigint formatting/allocation contract gap remains an unconfirmed follow-up, outside today's fix scope; no fix or completion claim is made for it. No speculative widening, refactor, dependency or CI/security change was made.
- Limits: this is not whole-repository certification or exhaustive review of every new fixture. The 17,233 changed lines in
TranslateTests.cppwere reviewed selectively; all other translator subsystems and unchanged std modules remain outside exhaustive coverage. No execution-based validation was performed.
The all-state issue and PR collections returned 18 issue/PR records and 8 PRs, with empty second pages at page size 100. PRs are excluded from issue totals. The comparison returned all 60 commits and 19 changed-file records, with an empty second commit page. GitHub omitted the large aggregate TranslateTests.cpp patch; selected individual-commit fixture patches were used instead. The exact full Frontend.cpp blob was retrieved through the Git blob connector.
Exact-source workflow/check collections and the Windows/navigation job collections were exhausted using second pages; first-page status refreshes are separately timestamped. The prior-source workflow collection was also exhausted. No broad historical-CI or whole-repository completeness is claimed. Scoped trees were untruncated: std 621 entries, neverc 2,582 entries, tests 1,046, utils 142 and .github 64.

The branch advanced once during this review, from 4c09e189 to 2d65e5b1. The additional conditional-move commit was inspected, and CI was refreshed for the new SHA. No failure or cancellation from the earlier SHA is presented as the new SHA's result.
-
Resolve the Windows ARM64 cmath witness blocker with actual SDK evidence. The latest completed prior-source run at 4c09e189 ran 24 tests and failed four configurations (MSVC/Clang, O0/O2): the fixture expects exactly one
_GENERIC_MATH2(pow)line, while the consumed MSVC 14.51.36231cmathgives zero matches. Its compiler build/tests were skipped, and postbuild evidence failure was downstream. The current-source run is still in progress at this snapshot.- Next action: inspect the actual consumed SDK's pow declaration and select a provenance-preserving witness; do not guess a replacement from an unrelated SDK tag or remove the source checks.
- Acceptance: the SDK difference is explained and all four witness configurations pass with exact-revision native evidence, followed by the previously blocked compiler gates.
- Dependency/owner: actual SDK declaration evidence and completed CI; unassigned.
-
Establish completed native evidence for the expanded translator and standard-library changes. The 283-commit interval includes conditional-move/apply query work and broad std changes. The static coverage below is meaningful but bounded. Current cpp-frontend-tools succeeds across its three archive-audit jobs; that does not certify the compiler, std runtime, relocation or installed-package matrix.
- Next action: reconcile final exact-SHA platform results and the affected ZIP64/Deflate/bzip2 and conditional-move regression cases; keep cancellation, skip, execution and pass states separate.
- Acceptance: advertised platform/runtime behavior has completed matching-revision evidence and unresolved gates are explicitly documented. Any broader execution needs separate authorization from this static-only review.
- Dependency/owner: eight source workflows are still running and one is queued; unassigned.
-
Reconcile translation roadmap acceptance with implementation and documentation. Issue #16 remains open with its acceptance checklists. Navigation synchronization is now complete for the current checker, following 98003d8 and 3b8771c, but 82 unfinished translations remain.
- Next action: map P0–P3 gates to implementing SHAs, positive/negative fixtures, completed platform execution and installed-package evidence; prioritize unfinished translations by usage rather than adding filler links.
- Acceptance: completion claims cite exact evidence and retain explicit unsupported boundaries. E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline; passing navigation is not full C++/STL or translation completeness.
- Dependency/owner: roadmap and native/install acceptance reconciliation; unassigned.

The completed prior-source Windows and navigation job collections were also exhausted. The whole-repository recursive tree request failed with a transport error; scoped recursive trees succeeded without truncation (neverc: 2,582 entries; std: 621; tests: 1,046). Files above 1 MB returned empty content or fetch errors through contents/raw paths; the exact Git blob API successfully supplied full Frontend.cpp and MathSDK.cpp before selected source review. No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed.

The current navigation job explicitly reports 16 successful layout regressions and a successful full navigation check: 736 pages across 11 locales, 1,201 resolving reference definitions, and 82 unfinished translations. The current docs-facts job also passed.
At the earlier 4c09e189 revision, the final observed snapshot was 11 workflows (2 successful, 1 failed, 8 cancelled) and 24 checks (7 successful, 1 failed, 15 cancelled, 1 skipped). The one failure was the Windows witness described above. Those cancelled runs are not passes and are not the status of 2d65e5b1.
Running/queued states are inconclusive. Branch dev is writable and unprotected at the publication precheck; the visible ruleset remains disabled. This review changed no CI or security configuration. The repository's CI scheduling policy now documents Markdown-only build exclusions and bounded auxiliary matrices. The report-only commit uses [skip ci]; any automatically created checks are not manually triggered validation. Refresh exact-SHA CI before release decisions.
- Issue/PR counts remain 9/0, without new comments or reviews.
- Reviewed a bounded selection of the 283-commit, 153-file interval, including every MathSDK change, nested member-pointer/apply consumers, four latest conditional-move commits, ZIP/bzip2 boundaries and relevant regression sources.
- Found no new statically proven defect; no code or tests changed.
- Verified the previous 90 navigation-parity diagnostics are cleared on today's exact SHA. All 16 layout regressions pass; 82 unfinished translations remain explicitly tracked.
- Kept the prior-source Windows SDK witness failure distinct from the current run, whose result is still pending.
- Preserved the previous report and daily history below. No build/test/script execution, active CI action, dependency/security change, issue-state change, merge or deployment was performed.
- Refresh the timestamp, inspected SHA, issue/PR state, and exact-revision CI together.
- Keep completed history and append a dated daily entry; preserve contributor edits.
- Distinguish GitHub metadata, documented capabilities, author-reported test results, and independently observed CI.
- Record unknowns and blockers explicitly. Do not infer completion percentages, deadlines, owners, or universal platform support.
- Use the latest relevant evidence when a branch advances; do not carry forward an old failure as a new revision's result.
- This workflow is static-only: minimal evidence-backed fixes may be committed, but builds, tests, repository scripts, active CI actions, issue-state changes, merges, and deployments are outside this daily review.

Pagination and inventory: the all-state issue collection returned 18 issue/PR records and the pull-request collection returned 8 PRs, each at page size 100 with an empty second page. PRs are excluded from issue counts. All nine open issues report zero comments. Latest PR #20 remains merged, with zero review submissions, inline review comments and conversation comments in the checked collections. The exact-source workflow and check-run queries returned all 12 runs and 23 checks, with empty second pages. The comparison enumerated all 48 commits and 9 files. Large aggregate patches for Frontend.cpp and TranslateTests.cpp were omitted by GitHub, so the source review used selected individual-commit patches and exact-revision source instead. A whole-repository recursive tree fetch failed; scoped directory inventories and available subtree inspection were used for instructions. No whole-repository or broad historical-CI completeness is claimed.
Evidence: the current Windows ARM64 Clang + LTO run failed in the COFF audit job. Its existing log reports 24 tests with four failures: MSVC/Clang at O0/O2 all stop in test_cmath_explicit_double_calls_preserve_values_and_remove_templates. The fixture expects exactly one _GENERIC_MATH2(pow) line, but the runner's MSVC 14.51.36231 cmath provides zero matches. This confirms the same blocker on today's exact revision, rather than carrying yesterday's status forward.
- Next action: inspect the actual installed SDK's pow declaration and select a provenance-preserving witness for that declaration shape.
- Acceptance: explain the SDK difference without weakening the source/provenance checks, then obtain authorized exact-revision native evidence for all four configurations.
- Dependency: the log exposes the generic macros and log10 instantiation but not a sufficient replacement pow declaration. The compiler build and compiler tests were skipped. The failed postbuild-evidence step is downstream, not proof of a compiler regression.
- Owner: unassigned.
Evidence: the current navigation log reports all 16 documentation-layout tests passing. The October 1 inline-code false links and September 30 literal-underscore regression no longer appear in this run's failures. The full checker still reports 90 jump-parity diagnostics across 10 translated translate.md pages; all reported navigation failures are these parity differences. The docs-facts job passed.
- Next action: reconcile each translated page with the English guide's actual linked content. The English/zh-CN source comparison confirms missing new/memory/tuple/array and structured-binding jumps, plus the string-header versus string-literal destination mismatch. Do not add filler links merely to satisfy counts.
- Acceptance: translated content and link multiplicities/destinations agree with the English source; an authorized later full navigation run passes.
- Dependency: passing layout regressions validate the narrow parser fixes on this descendant revision, not complete multilingual documentation or all current compiler features.
- Owner: unassigned.
Evidence: #16 remains open with unresolved acceptance checklists. The 48-commit interval adds unique_ptr comparison/query handling, SDK imports, tuple/reference-wrapper and invoke/mem_fn result sources, pointer-layout metadata, hash queries and noexcept-sensitive function-template identity. Selected high-risk paths received static review; this does not certify the full feature list.
- Next action: map P0–P3 gates to implementing SHAs, positive/negative fixture source, completed platform execution and installed-package evidence. Keep implemented, statically reviewed and natively verified states separate.
- Acceptance: completion claims have exact-revision evidence; unreviewed source and unfinished platform/runtime/install gates remain explicit.
- Dependency: E Language follows the bounded C++ P3 baseline. The successful cpp-frontend-tools workflow does not replace all compiler, relocation or runtime gates.
- Owner: unassigned.
The previously recommended UI foundation slice remains open under #7: C23 core/draw contracts, a null HAL, one agreed real host/backend, and a triangle-list sample, with overlay builds excluding the web host. Select the platform/backend and owner before assigning implementation work.
| Issue | Workstream | Evidence-backed tracking state | Next gate or dependency |
|---|---|---|---|
| #7 | UI architecture | Open architecture proposal | Core/draw and HAL/host contracts with minimal verified implementation |
| #8 | Immediate-mode UI | Open proposal | #7; widget/demo and input-capture validation |
| #9 | Renderer HAL | Open proposal | #7; null tests and first real renderer |
| #10 | Owned-process overlay host | Open proposal | #7, #8, #9; frame/input integration |
| #11 | Retained NXML UI | Open proposal | #7; stable tree identity and inspector contract |
| #12 | Desktop HTML/CSS host | Open proposal | #7; desktop-only runtime boundary |
| #16 | Source translation | Open roadmap; implementation documentation has advanced beyond issue wording | Reconcile acceptance evidence before declaring phases complete |
| #17 | NeverC Studio | Open RFC | Bounded shell prototype and shared language/build/diagnostic services |
| #18 | NeverC Engine | Open RFC | M0: one platform/backend and an animated, controllable sprite with debug panel |
The UI, Studio, and Engine entries describe issue/RFC status; this report does not independently certify whether every proposed component exists in the source tree. Studio's basic editing/building need not wait for the complete UI runtime. Engine translation is optional, and its 2D milestone need not wait for 3D.
- Read root
AGENTS.md,docs/local-dev.mdand the relevant compiler-development guidance. Scoped root, .github, compiler, utility and test directory inventories found no applicable nested AGENTS or separate contributing guide on the reviewed paths. - Reviewed all 29 MathSDK.cpp diff hunks across 26c52fc…8d48d8b: lazy wrapper metadata, ref/cref and wrapper access source proofs, nested member-pointer/mem_fn adapters and temporary initializers, invoke/apply descriptor propagation, function-pointer hash conversions, explicit unique_ptr operator calls, and tuple-get forward-declaration authentication.
- Reviewed both Project.cpp changed hunks: canonical noexcept type-argument identity, pack positions and propagation into instance-local declaration identities. Inspected the identity/storage fixture.
- Reviewed all Frontend.cpp patches in the latest seven commits, c7dd294 through 8d48d8b. Traced SDK value-adapter proof, mem_fn query and carrier-source retention, member-pointer written-argument retention, copy/factory declaration traversal, written template traversal, and native/invoke/apply admission consumers. Also checked the changed Frontend.h descriptor fields and selected earlier metadata/query callers.
- Inspected focused positive/negative test source for reference-wrapper metadata/access/factories, pointer hashing, callback identity/storage, nested and temporary mem_fn initialization, and nested member-pointer uses. The latest nested-pointer fixture pair and temporary-factory fixture pair received full patch inspection, including unevaluated effects, written type arguments, SDK replacements, receiver categories, missing bodies, reassignment, source identity and temporary lifetime. Fixture source is not execution evidence.
- Rechecked the documentation checker's ordered inline-link/code handling, its four regression methods, the lint-docs workflow and exact-source failure logs. Compared English and zh-CN translate.md links to ground the reported parity debt.
- Finding: no new statically proven defect in the reviewed scope. No code fix or new test was authored today. The narrow existing hash-wrapper argument gate still rejects top-level-const function-pointer lvalues; this is a boundary clarification opportunity, not a demonstrated regression or a reason to broaden the supported profile.
- Limits: this is not a whole-repository audit. Earlier Frontend.cpp changes and the 100,868-line TranslateTests.cpp received targeted rather than exhaustive review; numerous hash/invoke/query additions remain outside a full end-to-end audit. No project code, builds, tests or scripts were executed and no CI was dispatched/rerun. Existing automatic CI and author-reported validation are separate evidence. No dependencies, security settings, issue states, merges or deployments were changed.

The exact source has 23 check runs: 7 successful, 2 failed, 12 in progress and 2 queued, with zero legacy commit-status contexts. cpp-frontend-tools completed successfully across its three archive-audit jobs. Individual setup/policy/facts checks are not success of the larger compiler workflow.
The navigation job ran all 16 layout tests successfully, then failed the full checker on the 90 translation-parity diagnostics described above. The Windows ARM64 Clang + LTO job failed the existing SDK witness before the compiler build; its missing postbuild evidence is downstream. These are observed failures on this SHA, not failures produced by this review.
Running/queued states have no final result. Branch dev was writable and unprotected at the publication precheck; the visible repository ruleset was disabled. No release-readiness or universal-platform claim is made. The report-only commit uses [skip ci]; automatically created checks, if any, are not manually triggered validation. Refresh exact-SHA CI before using this report as release evidence.

- Verification scope: read-only GitHub issue/PR metadata, repository documentation, exact-revision workflow states, and the failed navigation job log. No compiler or test suite was executed for this report.
- Kept issue counts at 9 open issues and 0 open PRs; confirmed #20 merged and no new discussion/review queue.
- Compared 04299d7 through 26c52fc: 34 commits, 8 files. Reviewed every MathSDK change plus selected source-validation/lowering callers and regression-test source; no confirmed compiler bug in that bounded scope.
- Statically proved and fixed inline-code allocation/operator signatures being parsed as documentation links. Published 4a85206; added four source-only regressions and verified remote contents.
- Recorded the current Windows ARM64 COFF witness mismatch separately from the historical navigation failure. Did not substitute speculative SDK signatures or weaken checks.
- CI snapshot: pre-fix source has 12 workflows (4 running, 7 queued, 1 failed); fix has 1 automatically created dynamic check queued. No test/build execution or active CI triggering by this review.
- Counts remain 9 open issues and 0 open PRs, with no new issue comments or PR review queue.
