MetaSort worked fine for me on Windows for Whatsapp Images and Google Takeout a few weeks ago on a few thousand files!

I used the executable btw. Today when I tried using it on 500 odd Whatsapp videos whose metadeta was modified heavily by my phone's file manager when I moved them around.

I tried all different options of using Filename/embedded metadata for metadata extraction, as the filenames were standard whatsapp formats "VID-date-WA000", but no matter what all combinations I tried, it didnt work. I ended up using a simple Powershell script to get the job done but I was very confused as to why it didnt work for whatsapp video when it worked like a charm for whatsapp images.

Any ideas?

Thanks! Maybe you can try on files with only created and modified time tags which are recent and same compared to the actual time which is preserved in the filename.

Unfortunately, I cant share them as they are private and I already overwrote the metadata for them using a .ps1 script
