I see that there have been no updates in almost 6 months.

Yes, probably.
Two years without updates, we have Vulkan, DX12, and a lot of "updating" pilling up.
Unlikely that all this catching up will ever get done.

Well.. Polycode it self is not that dead - the author of it is redesigning and completely rewriting it. Afaik it's getting in a state in which he already shows it around but does not open his work to the public, yet..
