Configurable compaction options

Hey I was thinking about the compaction mechanism and many times when I'm not in Autodrive but prompting myself, the best conclusions and ideas happen when the context window is almost full. Compaction ruins the nuances there of course (especially as the latest encrypted reasoning tokens that the idea/concept/pan crystalizes with get lost by that) so I was thinking what if you made compaction more configurable?
For example, you could implement it so that when the whole conversation has been compacted, the user could select a number of last turns that (with full inclusion of their reasoning tokens) are added back to the context window.

Perhaps even allow for a certain percentage of the context to be filled so that for example 10% of the total context after compaction is full with the turns preceding the compaction.

Optimizing compaction is surely a thing that can greatly increase performance if done right, and this approach should also allow for less loss of direction after a compaction. There are of course many potential culprits to "hacking" the compaction, but I'm sure with experimentation great improvements in mitigating the inherent drawbacks of compaction could be made. So maybe the ideal starting point would not be to implement the idea i had in the first message directly, but rather a mechanism that allows for compaction hooks to be defined, so users could experiment with adapting compaction (and maybe at some point later you could ship a couple of vetted ones)
