So I built agentreg. DNS for AI agents. 🧵
2/ One self-hosted Go binary.
agentctl register search-agent -c search -e http://localhost:3000
agentctl find search
agentctl list
Discover agents by capability, not hardcoded URLs. Health-checked on a heartbeat,
so a dead agent shows up before it breaks something.
3/ Consul tells you WHERE a service is.
agentreg tells you WHAT an agent can do, WHETHER it's healthy, and (soon) how
much to trust it.
No cloud. No account. MIT. v0.1, built solo.
brew install mkk2026/tap/agentreg
github.com/mkk2026/agentreg
4/ Honest ask: if you run MCP servers, I want to know if this solves a real
annoyance or if I'm early. Try it and tell me — especially if you stop using
it and why. That's the useful feedback.
