[Feature Request] Find Rider in Windows and Linux for "Open in:.."

Hi,

I have two different working environment.
On Windows I use

• Visual Studio
• Visuai Studio Code
• Rider

unfortunatelly, SourceGit does not search for Rider in order to have this "Open in..." drop down, which I like a lot.
Would be nice if Rider is also checked for Windows.

On Linux I use

• Visual Studio Code
• Rider

unfortunatelly rider will not be found on my Arch based system where I have Rider installed from tme AUR rather than the toolbox.
The executable for me is located in:
/usr/bin/rider

Would be nice if this Rider also is detected for the "Open in..." drop down.

You can install JetBrains ToolBox, SourceGit uses it to find all JetBrains products.

For Windows:
Thats not true. Rider is not checked on windows at all.

For Linux:
The benefit of using AUR is that Rider gets automatically updated with my system as a whole by simply execute yay and thats it.
Why should I change that and bypass my normal system updates, just because SourceGit don't want to add 2 lines of code to find a binary in the case its not found by the toolbox check?
(I already saw in the code that the toolbox is checked, but the toolbox bypasses the arch SW update philosophy)

See the line 131. As I said SourceGit use JetBrains ToolBox to find JetBrains products.

JetBrains has lots of products, I don't want to write a separate function for each product. Just like we use vswhere to find Visual Studio products.

I understand. Sorry for this windows case, I was too blind to see that.
"Sadly" we use Rider on Windows from the DotUltimate installer, not the toolbox.

Is there maybe a local workaround possible? Like placing a custom state.json on a defined spot?
I would only need to know where (on both systems) and how the file has to look like :D

1. Create a folder Toolbox under C:\Users\<your_name>\AppData\Local\JetBrains
2. Save following code to state.json under Toolbox. Do not forget to change the installLocation

You can also install JetBrains Toolbox directly. It will automatically detect installed JetBrains products, and as long as you don't turn on automatic updates, it won't modify the Rider you installed yourself.

At home for my Linux, I considered that already too :D But I came to the conclusion that its not worth just to please SourceGit.
And since I also understand the arguments here totally, the custom json ist the perfect workaround for me :D

(At work where I have to use Windows, there the installer is published over the company own installer from IT. They skipped toolbox too)
