Configure volume in Docker-Container

the docker-rsync installation worked perfectly fine for me. When I look in my docker-machine, I can browse to the synced files via the rsync mount folder.
Now I tried to figure out a way to get this folder in my docker container.

What I thought to do is:
docker run -v /rsync/Users/myuser/my-application:/var/www /bin/bash
but that didn't work out.
So my question: What do I need to do, to access the synced files in a docker container?
