Question

How do I deploy my Streamlit app to the cloud and get the live URL for the Cloud Deployment bonus?

Answer

The +2 Cloud Deployment bonus needs a public URL reviewers can open. The catch:
Streamlit is a long-running server — serverless static hosts (Vercel, Netlify,
GitHub Pages) can host a static landing page but NOT run streamlit run,
Postgres, or Grafana.

Working options (pick one):

  1. GCP Cloud Run (serverless containers) — also scriptable with Terraform.
  2. Render — connect the GitHub repo as a Blueprint (render.yaml); it builds
    the Dockerfile automatically. Easiest.
  3. Fly.io — fly launch --no-deploy && fly deploy.

GCP Cloud Run + Terraform (example):

gcloud auth application-default login
gcloud builds submit --tag us-central1-docker.pkg.dev/<PROJECT>/complaintradar/app:latest .
cd terraform && terraform init && terraform apply # google_cloud_run_v2_service
terraform output cloud_run_service_url
# -> https://<service>-<hash>-uc.a.run.app
