ESPEC Web Controller: Version 4.1

The ESPEC Web Controller, HMI Software Version 4.1.0 (EWC V4.1), is ESPEC’s next-generation Web Controller software platform designed to provide a unified interface for the following controller families:

• ESPEC GL, P300, SCP220, and ES102
• Qualmark T-Series with an Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5370 L3 controller (1769-L30ER)
• Watlow F4 and F4T

EWC V4.1 Development History

The EWC V4.1 is an expanded software platform built upon the software implementation originally developed for the GL Controller System. The original GL Controller System, using HMI Software Version 4.0.0, ran the GL control software and communicated directly with the GL I/O board. It supported only the GL Controller in the Platinous series chambers.

EWC V4.1 uses HMI Software Version 4.1.0 and expands the original GL Controller System implementation into a unified, multi-controller Web Controller platform. Its development includes substantial software improvements and updated implementations of the controller interfaces previously supported by EWC V3.3. As a result, EWC V4.1 retains the integrated GL Controller functionality while extending support to the P300, SCP220, ES102, T/EXT (T-series) models, and Watlow F4/F4T controller families.

The development of the EWC V4.1 represents the following milestones:

1. EWC V4.0 release: Introduced as the GL Web Controller for the GL Controller System, with support for the GL Controller and GL I/O boards.

2. EWC V4.1 release: Expanded EWC V4.0 support to include the controller systems previously supported by EWC and replaced EWC Version 3.3 for those systems.

3. Security update: Incorporated an updated GNU/Linux kernel to support ongoing security and system-maintenance -requirements.

References to the EWC V4.1 in this manual may therefore describe either the GL Controller System or legacy Controller Systems for the controller families list above.

Remote Communication via EWC v3

Your chamber can be controlled remotely via serial interface using Termite (a simple RS232 terminal) or TCP/IP using PuTTY SSH or Telnet communication protocol. Select a link below to view the corresponding setup manual.

ChamberConnectLibrary Overview

This library is intended to be used to connect to and control ESPEC North America environmental chambers and controllers that include: ESPEC GL, P300, SCP220, ES102; Watlow F4, F4T. Please refer to the README file on the ChamberConnectLibrary page (at ChamberConnectLibrary) for further details.

The following links provide direct access to the support page at ESPEC for the specified controller and at Watlow for their F4T product. The one without the link has been discontinued but Python library support is still available.
