Open infrastructure for Exergism, exergic analysis, and experimental licensing systems built around human agency, contestability, reversibility, and resistance to capture.
Exergism Commons develops and stewards a connected ecosystem of philosophical, formal, semantic, governance, and licensing projects. The work starts from Exergism — an emergentist metaphysics of liberation — and explores how its concepts can be expressed as reproducible analytical systems and carefully bounded legal instruments.
The organization is intentionally structured so that philosophy, analysis, governance, copyright licensing, and patent licensing remain distinct layers. No repository silently acquires authority from another, and derived systems must state their dependencies and legal effects explicitly.
The canonical public corpus of Emergentist Metaphysics of Liberation.
It contains the philosophical source, the formal exergic-analysis model, the four-book architecture, applied examples, validation tooling, and a generated semantic/OWL projection.
Current status: v0.1.0, under active development on the 0.x line.
An experimental source-available software-license project focused on human agency, contestability, reversibility, distributed capacity, evidence-backed governance, and resistance to structural capture.
ECL combines versioned legal artifacts with a Git-native knowledge model, evidence valuation, adversarial review, formal Exergism analysis, reproducible Schedules, and explicit release/versioning boundaries.
Current status: ECL 0.3-DRAFT. ECL is not OSI-approved Open Source and is not intended to satisfy the Open Source Definition.
A separate project exploring an optional, standalone patent-licensing instrument for the Exergism Commons ecosystem.
ECL-PL is deliberately independent from ECL: applying one does not automatically apply the other, and patent grants must be express, attributable, bounded, and independently versioned.
Current status: architecture/bootstrap stage. No patent license has been released yet.
Across the organization, we aim for systems that are:
- Explicit — authority, scope, attribution, and legal effect are never inferred merely from association.
- Versioned — consequential artifacts should resolve to immutable, reproducible states.
- Contestable — claims and governance outcomes should remain open to contrary evidence and adversarial review.
- Evidence-backed — analytical and governance conclusions should expose their factual basis and uncertainty.
- Anti-capture — infrastructure should resist silent concentration of interpretive or institutional authority.
- Machine-auditable — schemas, structured data, validation, semantic models, and CI are used where they improve reproducibility.
- Non-retroactive by default — living knowledge can evolve without silently rewriting already released artifacts.

These projects are developed in public. Depending on the repository, useful contributions include:
- contrary evidence and factual corrections;
- philosophical and formal-model critique;
- ontology, schema, validation, and tooling improvements;
- legal and adversarial review;
- reproducibility and test improvements;
- documentation and accessibility work.
Please read the contribution and governance documents in the relevant repository before proposing changes to canonical or legally consequential artifacts.
The licensing work in this organization is experimental and evolving. Drafts, governance records, analytical outputs, semantic inferences, issues, or repository membership do not by themselves create legal restrictions, patent grants, or other licensing effects.
Nothing published by Exergism Commons is a substitute for qualified legal advice where consequential legal reliance is involved.
