ci(release): take a tagged main commit to TestFlight, with the store text ready to paste - #12
Conversation
A v* tag that matches MARKETING_VERSION, on a main commit whose CI passed, archives the app with the TG Archive App Store profile and uploads it.
…es template The description opens as the iOS client for the Telegram-Archive server you run yourself and closes with the project's disclosure. The review notes keep the demo address, login and share link as placeholders.
Checks App Store Connect's field limits, the opening and disclosure lines, that nothing says unofficial, the 1024 px opaque icon, and that release.yml signs with the team, bundle id and profile project.yml declares. Raises the CI test floor to 219.

📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe changes add English and Spanish App Store listings and review notes, test store and release metadata, raise the CI test-count gate to 219, and add a tag-triggered workflow that builds and uploads releases to TestFlight. ChangesApp Store release preparation
Priority: ➖ Normal Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Change: Feature Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The release workflow and store materials are mostly ready. Before submitting to the App Store, resolve the listing's plain-HTTP claim and the disclosure wording. Also allow a 30-character subtitle in the test and add a check that the release stops when CI has not passed. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

that simulates no successful ci.yml run and verifies the workflow stops before
signing. Anchor the test to the conclusion check in the release workflow and
preserve the existing tag, ancestry, and release-metadata checks.
Review comments at @docs/app-store/description.en.md:
- Line 44: Restore the prescribed disclosure wording in the English and Spanish
store descriptions, and update the Stage 10 note to describe that same
disclosure. In docs/app-store/description.en.md at line 44 and
docs/app-store/description.es.md at line 44, replace the current wording with
the required disclosure; in docs/DESIGN.md at line 21, revise the note to match.
- Line 39: Remove the plain-HTTP claim from both listings: update

preserving the rest of each description.

- Around line 54-55: Update the expected disclosure strings in StoreTextTests
for both locales to match the required store-description text, and remove the
assertion that rejects “unofficial.”

There was no way to get TG Archive onto TestFlight and nothing to paste into App Store Connect. The repo had no release workflow, no store text, no review notes, and a README stub. The store text also has to follow the new wording. TG Archive is the iOS client for Telegram-Archive, and nothing calls it "unofficial".
This adds the release path and the store material:
release.ymluploads to TestFlight when av*tag lands on a main commit whose CI passed and the tag matchesMARKETING_VERSION. It signs with the "TG Archive App Store" profile and stops early if thePROFILE_APPsecret holds a different profile. This is the pumperly-ios workflow cut down to one app target, with the same pinned actions.docs/app-store/has the English and Spanish store text: name, subtitle "Read your Telegram-Archive" / "Lee tu Telegram-Archive", promotional text, keywords, description, support and privacy URLs. The description opens as the iOS client for the open-source Telegram-Archive server you run yourself and closes with the disclosure. There's also a review notes template that answers the six Guideline 2.1 questions. The demo address, login and share link stay placeholders.StoreTextTestsholds all of this to its rules: App Store Connect's field limits, the opening and disclosure lines, no "unofficial", no bare "Telegram" in the name, subtitle or keywords, no keyword that repeats a title word, and a review template with no hostnames. It also checks that the shipped icon is the AppIcon set (one opaque 1024 px universal image) and thatrelease.ymluses the same team, bundle id and profile asproject.yml. The CI floor goes from 209 to 219.The icon is already the Telegram-Archive mark from #3, byte for byte the same file as on
banner-proposals. Its single 1024 px universal entry was already right, so the icon set needed no change.Verification, on a Mac with Xcode 27 and a fresh iPhone 17 Pro simulator:
Test run with 218 tests in 33 suites passed, the launch UI test passed,** TEST SUCCEEDED **,totalTestCount=219 failedTests=0. The same result bundle fails the gate with floor 220.release.yml, and "Simulator" in the review template. The two new suites failed on each one (Test run with 10 tests in 2 suites failed ... with 5 issues).** ARCHIVE SUCCEEDED **,** EXPORT SUCCEEDED **. That producedTGArchive.ipa, signed by Apple Distribution for team 624WUVM8B4 with the "TG Archive App Store" profile embedded, display name TG Archive, version 0.1.0, icon name AppIcon.
