@apausa Thanks for the improvements! Trying to reproduce it I can't find dd4hep2root:

$ source /cvmfs/sw.hsf.org/key4hep/setup.sh
Setting up the Key4hep software stack release latest-opt from CVMFS (2026-04-08)

$which dd4hep2root
/usr/bin/which: no dd4hep2root in (/cvmfs/sw.hsf.org/key4hep/releases/2026-02-01/...

Seems to be only available in the nightlies. I am adding @BrieucF for advice, but my suggestion is to hold this PR until dd4hep2root is available in a new release.
