Updated Reihitsu.Analyzer from 1.0.0 to 1.1.0.

1.1.0

Reihitsu 1.1.0

This release adds five new analyzer rules and a --lang-version option for the CLI. It widens or narrows the scope of several existing rules and makes the formatter's output more consistent. Many edge cases that used to need a second formatting pass, or left a code fix and the formatter disagreeing, now settle in one pass.

Heads-up: The formatter has new canonical shapes for properties, indexers, accessor lists and member layout (see below). Reformatting an existing code base with 1.1.0 will produce a one-time diff, and some rules now report code they did not report before.

New rules

Rule Title Code fix
RH3205 Expression style operators should not be used ✔ (Fix All)
RH3206 Expression style conversion operators should not be used ✔ (Fix All)
RH3207 Expression style finalizers should not be used ✔ (Fix All)
RH3208 Expression style local functions should not be used ✔ (Fix All)
RH5114 Using directives must be placed on separate lines ✔ (Fix All)
  • RH3205–RH3208 report rewrites the formatter already made. Before, these member kinds were converted to block bodies without any diagnostic, so analyzer-only users never saw them. Indexers are not covered on purpose: like properties, they stay expression-bodied.
  • RH5114 reports two using directives on the same line, whatever their order or group. Its code fix only inserts a line break. It never reorders directives or adds blank lines.

Changes to existing rules

  • RH1002 now also checks Enumerable.Contains and Enumerable.SequenceEqual when the element type is a struct without equality members. dictionary.Contains(keyValuePair) is not reported, because it is a key lookup and never uses KeyValuePair equality.
  • RH8201 now also reports documented interface implementations that do not use <inheritdoc/>. This covers implicit, explicit, generic and static abstract implementations, operators included. The existing code fix applies to all of these. A few cases are deliberately not reported; RH8201.md lists them.
  • RH5203 only checks arguments that start their own line. It no longer reports the leading-comma layout the formatter produces.
  • Attribute target rules:
    • Attribute lists on parameters and type parameters are now laid out by their owner, not by their target specifier. For example, [property: JsonPropertyName("Id")] int Id on a positional record stays on one line, and [property: A, B] is no longer split.
    • The declaration-level placement and shape rules (RH5501–RH5520, RH5527/RH5528) no longer report lists owned by a parameter or type parameter. RH5523, RH5524 and RH5529 cover those.
    • Attribute lists on accessors of single-line auto-properties and auto-indexers are no longer reported by the target placement and shape rules.
    • Attribute lists are merged only when they resolve to the same target. Before, a merge could move an attribute to a different target, for example { [field: A] [B] get; set; } became [field: A, B].

Formatter: new canonical shapes

  • Single-statement accessors become expression bodies. get { return _x; } becomes get => _x;, and the same applies to set/init and throw statements. This requires C# 7.0 or later.
  • Get-only properties and indexers become expression-bodied members. { get { return e; } } and { get => e; } both become => e;. Expression-bodied indexers (this[int i] => …;) are no longer expanded into accessor form.
  • Accessor lists are either on one line or one accessor per line. Auto-indexers now collapse to a single line under the same conditions as auto-properties.
  • Every member starts its own line. This applies to types, namespaces and the compilation unit. } public void Next() on one line is now split.
  • Every using directive is on its own line, including in blocks that cannot be reordered safely.
  • Wrapped list elements are joined. Line breaks inside an element of an argument, parameter, attribute, tuple or type-argument list are removed, for example N(out⏎var value) → N(out var value). Lines that a comment or directive keeps on their own are aligned with their own list instead of falling back to the block column.

CLI

  • New option --lang-version <version>. It sets the C# language version used for parsing and formatting. The default is latest (currently C# 14). preview prints a warning, and an invalid value exits with code 2.
  • The formatter now uses the project's language version everywhere, including in code fixes. This fixes a case where public class A { } became public class A; in projects targeting C# 11 or older (CS9058).

Bug fixes

  • Code fixes keep correct blank lines. Fixes that reformat a nested member or statement no longer drop the blank line above it, and they now apply the same blank-line rules (RH5001–RH5021, RH5029, RH5030) as document-level formatting. For example, the RH7004 fix no longer leaves an RH5005 diagnostic behind.
  • Blank line before a comment. A comment after a block comment that spans two lines now gets its required blank line in one pass, so RH5020 and RH8303 no longer remain after formatting.
  • Attribute merge fixes. The RH5524 and RH5529 merge fixes no longer leave a trailing space when a blank line follows the merged lists.
  • One-pass formatting. Lists whose layout depends on attribute formatting now settle in one pass, so --check succeeds after a single format run. This affects type-parameter lists, indexers, and lambdas with attributes inside arguments.
