Delphi 13 installation problems

Hello,

I am experiencing issues installing Alcinoe on Delphi 13.

Delphi 13 is installed only with Windows and Android support (iOS, macOS, and Linux modules are not installed). I downloaded the latest version of Alcinoe from the official repository and performed the compilation and installation, including the visual components and applying the Florence patch.

However, during compilation, even though I correctly added the source paths and installed the required patch, I receive several errors both on Windows and Android, including:

[dcc64 Error] Alcinoe.FMX.Types3D.pas(295): E2003 Undeclared identifier: 'Material'
[DCC Error] Alcinoe.FMX.Ani.pas(1366): E2003 Undeclared identifier: 'TChoreographer'

What could be the cause of this issue?

I think it's the copying and patching step of the delphi source that fail because you do not have iOS source file. can you try to install the iOS module ?

thank you for your suggestion.

To exclude any missing platform files issue, I have completely uninstalled Delphi 13 and reinstalled it including all available modules and target platforms.

After that, I re-applied the official Delphi October patch, re-downloaded Alcinoe from the official repository, and repeated the full installation procedure from scratch (including the Florence patch).

However, the problem is still present and the compilation fails with the same error:

[DCC Error] Alcinoe.FMX.Ani.pas(1366): E2003 Undeclared identifier: 'TChoreographer'

So unfortunately, installing the iOS module did not resolve the issue.

Hi @mantacoder,

I had a similar problem. Based on your logs, I suspect you downloaded the repository using GitHub’s Download ZIP option instead of cloning it with Git:

git clone <repo-url>

The reason I think this is because your logs contain this path:

D:\SorgentiDelphi_Berlin\LibrerieDelphi\Alcinoe-master

When cloning the repository normally, the default folder name would usually be:

Alcinoe

If you downloaded the ZIP archive, the folder is typically named:

Alcinoe-master

In that case, the repository folder will not contain a .git directory. Could you please confirm whether .git is missing from your Alcinoe-master directory?

If you do not want to clone the repository and want to keep using the downloaded ZIP version, you may need to modify the relevant Update.bat file under one of the Embarcadero subdirectories.

For example, in my case I downloaded the repository from the GitHub page and placed it inside another repository. In:

\Embarcadero\Florence\Update.bat

I had to change this line:

git -C "%ALBaseDir%" apply --ignore-space-change --ignore-whitespace --whitespace=nowarn .\Embarcadero\Florence\Florence.patch -v

to:

git -C "%ALBaseDir%" apply --ignore-space-change --ignore-whitespace --whitespace=nowarn .\Embarcadero\Florence\Florence.patch -v --directory="Alcinoe-master"

The important part is this option:

--directory="Alcinoe-master"

It should point to the Alcinoe source directory inside your main Git repository. In my case, that directory was named Alcinoe-master, but in your case it may be different.

For example:

--directory="Alcinoe"

or:

--directory="Libraries/Alcinoe-master"

depending on where the Alcinoe files are located relative to the root of your main repository.

To confirm whether your issue is the same as mine, please check:

Whether the .git directory is missing from Alcinoe-master.
Whether your actual Alcinoe source files are inside the Alcinoe-master folder.
Whether the patch paths assume the repository root is named/structured differently.
