Problem

The final real-client E2E repeatedly lost GUI setup and let automated clients resolve tools against ambient workspaces, forcing repeated manual configuration and producing false failures before the 0.1.7 release gate.

Scope

  • Bind Codex CLI, OpenCode, Pi, and OMP to each fresh case workspace with one minimal read-only sentinel request.
  • Preserve the dedicated Desktop browser login and allowlisted onboarding state across fresh runs without copying Codex project/history/remote-host/runtime state.
  • Preserve ZCode login/preferences while removing task databases, CLI runtime logs, browser local/session/IndexedDB state, and stale workspace bindings.
  • Reject occupied or Windows dynamic-range Gateway ports before launch.
  • Document durable GUI seed staging.

Acceptance

  • Deterministic runner regressions prove workspace argv boundaries, prompt-once behavior, GUI seed isolation/normalization, and port preflight.
  • Existing four-case GUI success evidence remains reusable; no repeated GUI setup is required for this implementation delta.
  • Local affected matrix, PowerShell parse, diff hygiene, and exact-local-SHA review pass before the sole push/CI run.
  • Merge to dev first for human validation; main remains unchanged until explicit confirmation.

    Issue #218 completion reconciliation:

    • Exact-candidate Actions run 30057513108 completed 7/7 successfully.
    • PR delivery evidence records exact-local-SHA Standards/Spec review pass, affected workspace/seed/onboarding regressions, PowerShell parse, diff hygiene, and report-only gates.

    The dedicated gui-seeds and run directories remain preserved for the final frozen-candidate qualification. This closes reusable setup/workspace binding only; it does not claim the final 12/12 release qualification.
