The first mainline electric train for the American region rebalance/expansion: the MS-2 'Polaris', based on the EP-2 'Bipolar'. This electric locomotive is available between 1919 and 1953, has a top speed of 55 mph, and a power of 2220 hp. Its contemporary to the OG Pacific and has comparable stats, but is significantly more expensive to run and purchase. It's slightly less profitable than the Pacific on flat terrain, but shines on hillier lines the pacific would be more likely to stall on.
