Solved in #8: German page at /de/ with lang=de, og:locale de_DE, hreflang en/de/x-default on both pages, a Deutsch/English switch in the header and translated UI strings. check_site.rb guards all of it plus the German search terms.
The site is English only, though the project's origin story (Shopware is expensive) fits the German market, where searches such as "Shopware Alternative Open Source", "Webshop selbst hosten" and "Open-Source-Shopsystem" have no headless or developer-focused result.
Expected once solved:
https://opentaberna.de/de/serves a German version of the page withlang="de"andog:locale de_DE; both pages link to each other withhreflangalternates (plusx-default) and a visible language switch; the sitemap lists/de/; andcheck_site.rbfails if any of that is lost.
