Description

@mr-manuel

When checking with sendspin daemon --help it says that Use --list-audio-devices to see available devices, but it does not work. See below.

root@raspberry-hifi:~# sendspin --version
sendspin 5.9.0
root@raspberry-hifi:~#
root@raspberry-hifi:~#
root@raspberry-hifi:~# /usr/local/bin/sendspin daemon --help
usage: sendspin daemon [-h] [--url URL] [--port LISTEN_PORT] [--name NAME] [--id ID] [--log-level {DEBUG,INFO,WARNING,ERROR,CRITICAL}] [--static-delay-ms STATIC_DELAY_MS] [--audio-device AUDIO_DEVICE] [--audio-format AUDIO_FORMAT]
                       [--settings-dir SETTINGS_DIR] [--disable-mpris] [--hardware-volume {true,false}] [--hook-start HOOK_START] [--hook-set-volume HOOK_SET_VOLUME] [--hook-stop HOOK_STOP]

Run as a headless audio player. By default, listens for incoming server connections and advertises via mDNS (_sendspin._tcp.local.). Use --url to connect to a specific server instead.

options:
  -h, --help show this help message and exit
  --url URL WebSocket URL of the Sendspin server to connect to. If omitted, listen for incoming server connections via mDNS.
  --port LISTEN_PORT Port to listen on for incoming server connections (default: 8928)
  --name NAME Friendly name for this client (defaults to hostname)
  --id ID Unique identifier for this client (defaults to sendspin-cli-<hostname>)
  --log-level {DEBUG,INFO,WARNING,ERROR,CRITICAL}
                        Logging level to use (default: INFO)
  --static-delay-ms STATIC_DELAY_MS
                        Extra playback delay in milliseconds applied after clock sync
  --audio-device AUDIO_DEVICE
                        Audio output device by index (e.g., 0, 1, 2) or name prefix (e.g., 'MacBook'). Use --list-audio-devices to see available devices.
  --audio-format AUDIO_FORMAT
                        Preferred audio format as codec:sample_rate:bit_depth:channels (e.g., flac:48000:24:2). Verified against the audio device on startup.
  --settings-dir SETTINGS_DIR
                        Directory to store settings (default: ~/.config/sendspin)
  --disable-mpris       Disable MPRIS integration

  --hook-set-volume HOOK_SET_VOLUME
                        Script to run for external volume control (receives effective volume 0-100)
  --hook-stop HOOK_STOP
                        Command to run when audio stream stops (receives SENDSPIN_* env vars)

    It's a top level flag. Your log also doesn't show it listed for daemon.

    It works with sendspin player --list-audio-devices and it's listed exactly the same way as for the player help.

      --audio-device AUDIO_DEVICE
                            Audio output device by index (e.g., 0, 1, 2) or name prefix (e.g., 'MacBook'). Use --list-audio-devices to see available devices.

    Ah yeah, good point. We should move it to its own app.
