Treemap labels had opaque black rectangles that obscured the colored map. The owner selected direct white labels: this removes both label backplates, retains semantic category hues, and adjusts tile luminance for readable names and sizes. Nested tiles remain darker; filter and staged states retain their existing meaning.
Validation: focused contrast checks pass across all category/nested/filter/staged colors; fresh native full-shell fixtures pass at 880x600, 1200x850 and 1440x900. A running isolated app scanned a controlled project and verified direct labels and filter behavior. Design preflight and rendered-review gates pass. Full candidate CI and protected signed release qualify the exact published source.
