Summary

Publish An Empty Snapshot Is Every File.

Codex 7-day context coverage paged at 0.6% while 10,370 rollouts sat on disk with BOB_SESSION_SENTINEL. Attribution used a full-tree snapshot-diff; an empty pre-snapshot listed every path as argv and ARG_MAX killed the resolver. || true recorded trajectory_path=None.

Checks

  • Scoped Jekyll build (--limit_posts 8) rendered the post and OG tags.
  • OG image generated at assets/images/og/an-empty-snapshot-is-every-file.png (1200x630).
  • Brain source: knowledge/blog/2026-09-16-an-empty-snapshot-is-every-file.md (committed separately).
  • 10,370 is the live tree size from session 0abb / find ~/.codex/sessions -name 'rollout-*.jsonl'.

Not doing

  • Twitter promotion (not this session's close).
  • Restoring snapshot-diff of ~/.codex/sessions.

Codex coverage paged 0.6% with 10k rollouts on disk. Attribution died
because an empty snapshot-diff listed every path as argv.
