Release list
Sieve
Sieve lets you decide what Grasshopper loads before it opens.
Instead of launching Grasshopper with all plugins, you launch it through Sieve and either:
- Select plugins manually for this session, or
- Choose a saved “environment” (a preset list of plugins) tailored to a specific workflow.
Grasshopper then starts with only those plugins, which means:
-
Faster startup times
-
Fewer conflicts and version issues
-
A cleaner canvas focused on the tools you actually need
-
Better team communication when everyone shares the same environments
(especially useful if you have a large plugin library with different workflows)
Key features
Environment presets
- Create and name multiple Grasshopper environments.
- Each environment stores a list of plugins to load.
Manual plugin selection
- Browse your installed Grasshopper plugins and tick only what you need.
- Ideal for quick tests or one-off setups.
Multiple plugin locations
- Scans typical Grasshopper plugin folders and any custom paths you add.
Planned features (roadmap)
In future releases, Sieve aims to:
- Backup environments & plugin sets – save and restore plugin configurations or environments.
- Document-aware loading – drag & drop a Grasshopper file and load only the plugins required for that document.
👉 Open-source & community-driven
Sieve is an open-source project developed by ToolWorksLAB, and it grows with the community.
If you want to help make it better, more reliable, and more widely usable, you’re very welcome to:
- Open issues for bugs or feature requests
- Contribute code via pull requests
- Share feedback from your own workflows (urban, robotics, fabrication, etc.)
