What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)

Completed the shell scripting assignment by creating the required directory structure, organizing log files into their corresponding folders, removing files containing ipaddr in their names, and generating an inventory of processed files.

What did you learn from the changes you have made?

I learned how to use shell commands to create directories, move and copy files, remove specific files, and redirect command output to a file.

Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?

I could use alternative shell commands and patterns to organize files and make the script more concise.

Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?

I faced some challenges with file paths, shell commands, and GitHub authentication. I overcame them by testing the script, checking the output, and troubleshooting the Git configuration.

How were these changes tested?

I ran the shell script and checked the generated directory structure, the number of log files in each processed folder, the removal of files containing ipaddr, and the generated inventory file.
