Summary

  • Build win_amd64 wheels (Python 3.11 to 3.13) with MSVC in the publish workflow. The existing cibuildwheel smoke test (extension import plus a tree layout) runs on the Windows runner. A short SKBUILD_BUILD_DIR guards against MSVC MAX_PATH failures from OGDF's deep include paths.
  • Add pytest-windows, a full from-source test run on windows-latest, gated on workflow_dispatch and a weekly schedule since compiling OGDF takes 20-30 minutes. Not part of the required all-tests-pass gate.
  • Declare Windows x86_64 as a supported wheel platform in the README and the package classifiers.
  • Bump version to 0.3.1.

Verification

  • Manual run of the publish workflow on this branch: all three wheel jobs succeeded, no publish (not a tag). Windows wheels for cp311, cp312, cp313 passed the smoke test on the runner.
  • Manual run of the tests workflow: pytest-windows gave 554 passed, 34 skipped, identical to the Linux job.
  • An external tester installed the cp313 wheel on 64-bit Windows with Anaconda Python 3.13.5 and ran a smoke script covering cosine layout, save/load, the spawn-based multiprocessing fingerprint path with RDKit, and HTML export. All stages passed.

Publish workflow: build win_amd64 wheels with MSVC on windows-latest.

Windows wheels build and pass the cibuildwheel smoke test on
windows-latest, and the full test suite passes on Windows (554 passed,
34 skipped, matching Linux). Drop the WSL2 recommendation from the
README and add the Windows classifier.
