What

Restructures the README Install on Hermes section so it covers installing the CLI binary, not just registering the cron.

The friend-requests cron and heartbeat prompts invoke edge-book as a bare command. If the binary is not on the PATH that Hermes cron jobs / tool calls run with, those checks silently no-op and inbound friend requests are lost. (The cron prompts already carry an npm exec -y edge-book fallback, so this is the canonical-install layer, not a runtime fix.)

Install target documented

  • edge-book resolves as a bare command from /opt/data
  • state/home at /opt/data/home/.openclaw/edge-book (the default ~/.openclaw/edge-book when $HOME=/opt/data/home)
  • PATH-entry or /usr/local/bin symlink to expose the npm-installed binary
  • verify steps (edge-book version, friend pending --new ... --json) + ensure-notifier

Release

  • bump to v0.18.1 (docs); 506 tests pass, build + sync-readme:check clean

The friend-requests cron and heartbeat prompts invoke edge-book as a bare
command; if the binary is not on the cron PATH the checks silently no-op
and inbound friend requests are lost. Document the install target (binary
resolvable as edge-book from /opt/data, home at
/opt/data/home/.openclaw/edge-book), the PATH-or-symlink step, the verify
commands, and ensure-notifier, ahead of cron registration.

Provision the host friend-request notifier for this home:

```
edge-book ensure-notifier --home /opt/data/home/.openclaw/edge-book
P2 Badge Avoid registering the notifier twice
In the Hermes path where this succeeds, edge-book ensure-notifier already provisions the same "Edge Book — friend requests" cron via ensureNotifierCron (src/cli.ts calls it, and src/host-cron.ts builds a hermes cron create ... --name FRIEND_REQUESTS_CRON_NAME). The next README step still tells users to run another hermes cron create for the same job, so a fresh install now ends with either a duplicate notifier or a name-conflict error after a successful setup.
