Traefik's ingress-nginx compatability mode does not $upstream_cookie__oauth2_proxy_1 so cannot handle the multipart cookies.

This swaps oauth2-proxy to running in passthrough mode. All requests are now sent to auth2-proxy, which does the auth itself, circumventing the problem.
The disadvantage of this is the request taking another hop inside the cluster

Alternatives to this approach include:

  • Running oauth2-proxy with a redis session store
  • Turning off auth refresh in oauth2-proxy

But these have their own disadvantages- extra dependencies, or possibly broken auth.

This circumvents cookie-setting problem

Keeping a session open longer than 1 hour triggered
Cross-origin errors due to the session timing out.

I don't think this was caused by the changed I made in this PR
Again I don't think this error is caused by the traefik work.
