Summary

Hosts can ask the installed Copilot CLI which models and reasoning efforts this account offers, with no ACP session and no model turn.

Changes

  • band.adapters.copilot_acp.list_models uses github-copilot-sdk (copilot_sdk extra) against the executable in config.command, with the configured github_token and env layered on the host environment.
  • The client is stopped on every path, including a start that fails.
  • Docs: Copilot row in the model-listing table.

Related Issues

Split out of #666 (S-13). Stacked on #705 (feat/host-list-models-omp); review and merge that first.

Testing

  • Unit tests pass (uv run pytest tests/ --ignore=tests/integration/ --ignore=tests/e2e/)
  • Pre-commit checks pass (ruff check, ruff format --check, pyrefly check)
  • Markdown docs pass (pytest --markdown-docs docs)
  • Fake client: configured CLI and token, host environment kept under overrides, inherit when unset, and stop after a failed start including cancellation. 5964 passed.

  • Code follows project style guidelines
  • Tests added/updated as needed

Hosts need the models and efforts the installed Copilot CLI offers this
account, without an ACP session. Ask github-copilot-sdk with the
configured binary and auth, and stop the client on every path.

Superseded by #850, refreshed on current upstream main with a fork-owned maintenance branch. The replacement records the corrected behavior, actual dependencies, own-delta review/replay base, local verification, and the private-core coverage limitation for fork PRs. This closes the superseded proposal only: no merge, fork-main integration, or source-branch deletion. Original PR history and branch are retained.
