Donovan Baney. Biology and pre-med, Gannon University.

I'm a biology and pre-med student at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I build small, privacy-first tools for medicine, learning, and everyday help. More about me at dbaney.com.

What I've built

  • GeneMachine: explains established gene–medicine evidence, helps you write questions for your care team, and checks a consumer DNA file on your own device. Open the app
  • Myelinate: an AI tutoring skill that teaches through explanation, retrieval practice, and feedback, matched to your own course materials. Try a sample lesson
  • Helper: helps adults 60 and older find official SNAP and energy-help pages and prepare the papers to bring. Open Helper
  • Waypost: lets AI agents read Proton Mail, Drive, and Calendar on your computer, with sending and uploads off by default.
  • VaultLink: opens an Obsidian vault in a browser or Chrome side panel from your other devices over private Tailscale.
  • Stillport: lets AI agents search Apple Photos and chosen Google Photos. I used it to pick the photos on my site.
