"story": "
He was born on November 5, 1920, in Livisi in Asia Minor, and came to Greece as a child when his family was uprooted as refugees; they settled on the island of Evia. From boyhood he was devoted to the Church: by seven he knew the Divine Liturgy by heart though he could not yet read, he tended the lamps at a chapel of St Paraskevi, and he was entrusted with the keys of the village church. After his mother鈥檚 death in 1942 and his army service, he worked to provide his sister鈥檚 dowry before he was free to become a monk.
\n
In 1951 he entered the Monastery of St David the Elder on Evia, and in 1952 he was tonsured and ordained deacon and priest. He became abbot in 1975 and led a small, poor brotherhood in humility, regarding St David as the monastery鈥檚 true abbot and his own spiritual father. Many sought him out as a confessor, and hundreds of healings and other wonders have been attributed to his prayers.
\n
He reposed on November 21, 1991, the feast of the Entry of the Theotokos, after receiving Holy Communion at the Divine Liturgy. In 2017 the Ecumenical Patriarchate numbered him among the Saints, with his feast on November 22.
\n
This life was written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, drawing on published accounts of the Saint.
",
