DevSweep Desktop is a powerful, cross-platform GUI application built with PySide6 that helps developers reclaim valuable disk space by intelligently detecting and cleaning up development artifacts. It provides a safe, user-friendly way to manage storage consumed by virtual environments, node_modules, build outputs, caches, and Docker resources.

Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/madnansultandotme/DevSweep.git cd DevSweep -
Create virtual environment
python -m venv venv

Activate virtual environment
Windows:
venv\Scripts\activate
macOS/Linux:
source venv/bin/activate -
Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt

Run the application
python main.py
run.bat- Click "Scan System" to scan common developer directories (Home, Projects, Documents)
- Click "Scan Folder" to scan a specific directory
- Click "Scan Storage" to scan entire drives
- Review the scan results in the Dev Artifacts tab
- Check items you want to clean (use "Select Safe Items" for recommended selections)
- Click "Clean Selected"
- Choose between:
- Move to Trash - Items can be restored later
- Delete Permanently - Items are removed forever
- Go to the Browse Folders tab
- Select a folder to analyze
- Set scan depth (1-3 levels)
- Click Analyze to see folder sizes
- Go to the Docker tab
- View images, containers, and volumes
- Remove unused items or run Prune System to clean all unused Docker resources
- Go to the Trash tab
- View items in DevSweep trash
- Restore items or permanently delete them
- Click Empty Trash to remove all items
