The `--cohort` flag ensures that versions remain {ref}`synchronized during later updates <howto-update-sync>`.

You can use the `--channel` flag to specify different channels, which correspond to different releases. If you install a different MicroCloud release, be sure to install compatible releases of LXD, MicroCeph, and MicroOVN, as detailed in {ref}`ref-releases-matrix`.
