Issue with Wallpaper Not Loading on Boot with New Bootscript Method for S905X, X2, X3 Models

Hi everyone,

We're currently using the new bootscript method for models S905X, X2, and X3, and we're encountering an issue. When we use the provided files (aml_autoscript, s905_autoscript) and perform a native installation on the TV Box, we notice that every time the TV Box starts up, the wallpaper does not get enabled and the background remains black.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there a chance that a service might be getting disabled during startup, or is there a way to ensure that the wallpaper is activated on boot with this new method?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding your issue: this is likely unrelated to the bootscripts themselves — by the time the wallpaper service runs, the boot chain is already done. This looks more like a race condition where the display compositor starts before the graphical environment is fully ready.

A few things worth checking:

• Does running systemctl restart <your-desktop-service> after boot restore the wallpaper?
• Any relevant errors in journalctl -b | grep -i wallpaper or ~/.xsession-errors?

If restarting the service fixes it, a simple workaround is adding a delayed restart in /etc/rc.local or a systemd override with ExecStartPost=sleep 5.

What desktop environment are you using?
