I'm a mobile security expert, software engineer and product-minded technologist from Germany.
I've been working with software and mobile technology for many years, with a particular interest in the places where security, privacy, usability and engineering meet.
These days, a lot of my curiosity is directed at AI-assisted and agentic software development: what it enables, where it fails, and what happens to software engineering when writing code is no longer the difficult part.

- 🏠 Home Assistant and making computers do things for me
I like technology that is understandable, dependable and useful. I prefer small systems over unnecessary complexity, open standards over lock-in, and evidence over hype.
I still write code, although increasingly I find myself thinking about systems, products, security and how we build software rather than any particular programming language.
Outside of work, I'm a father, cyclist, Magic: The Gathering player and occasional tinkerer with far too many computers.
Since 2017, I've also been talking about technology on a podcast and writing about things that interest me on my website.
Currently exploring: agentic coding · local LLMs · mobile security · self-hosted infrastructure · deliberately simple software
