Adds optional slice_item(item, start, stop) and join_items(items) to SourceReader (non-abstract stubs, so existing sources are unaffected), wired through StreamBuffer to BufferReader. range(..., join=True) then returns a single item trimmed to exactly [start, stop] (implies start_le, incompatible with step, clear NotImplementedError if the source doesn't implement both). Default behaviour is unchanged.

Closes #14
