system-backup

a modular bare metal bootable system backup utility for archlinux. supports LUKS2 encryption, multiple filesystems (ext4, btrfs, xfs, f2fs), systemdboot, and grub.

installation

archlinux aur (manjaro, endeavouros, cachyos)

yay -S system-backup
# or
paru -S system-backup

archlinux manual build (no aur)

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/system-backup.git
cd system-backup
makepkg -si

usage

sudo system-backup full /dev/sdX    # the full version partitions, encrypts, formats and syncs your system
sudo system-backup full /dev/sdX    # unencrypted backup with btrfs
sudo system-backup sync /dev/sdX    # incremantal sync refresh
sudo system-backup close            # safely unmounts and locks the drive

replace sdX with your actual drive and make sure its the correct one
