Anything a user pastes — and anything fetched from the web — is wrapped in
`<USER_DATA>` delimiters and treated as content, never as instructions.
A delimiter is only worth something if the text inside cannot close it:
every delimiter-shaped tag in untrusted text is neutralised before it is
wrapped, on every path (the message, the history, every tool result), and
decided by normalising the tag rather than by listing spellings, because a
list always misses one (`_neutralise_delimiters` in `app/routers/chat.py`).
Untrusted input also has a size ceiling, checked before any work, so one
request cannot stall the server for everyone else.
The eval suite (`evals/`) includes prompt-injection cases; run it when you
touch the prompt, the dispatch loop, or anything that feeds text to the
model. Brand-restricted vocabulary is tested there too — the term list
