When close() disconnects the BLE device, Bleak fires the disconnected_callback which calls close() again. The second close() tries to disconnect while the first is still in progress, causing a deadlock. Add a _closing guard flag to prevent the re-entrant call. Add the return annotation to fake_disconnect.
Declare the nested callback as def fake_disconnect() -> None:.
As per coding guidelines, Python files must use type hints for all new function parameters and return values.

Block late BLE callbacks before resetting _closing.
On Bleak 1.1.1 BlueZ, disconnect() can time out while its device watcher remains registered. A later signal can invoke the callback from connect(). After _closing resets, that callback re-enters close() on the BLE event-loop thread. BLEClient.disconnect() then waits for work on the same thread, causing a deadlock.
Keep _closing = False for explicit retries, but disable the registered callback after a failed close.

When
close()disconnects the BLE device, Bleak fires the disconnect callback and re-entersclose(). A_closingguard prevents duplicate cleanup and the resulting deadlock.Keep the guard set after successful shutdown so repeated closes remain idempotent. If cleanup raises, clear the guard and propagate the exception so a later close can retry. Retry receive-thread joining even after reading has stopped, and retain the exit handler until BLE client cleanup succeeds.
Regression coverage checks reentrant disconnect callbacks, repeated successful closes, and failure followed by retry for receive-thread joining, BLE disconnect, BLE client shutdown, and disconnect notification.
