The manuscript didn't conform to the required JOSS section structure. Reorganized to: Summary → Statement of need → State of the field → Software design → Research impact statement → AI usage disclosure → Acknowledgements → References.

• Removed "Implementation" and "Availability" sections — content redistributed into appropriate surviving sections
• New "State of the field" section — assembled from the existing-tools comparison (previously in Statement of need) and the "Build vs. Contribute" subsection (previously in Software Design)
• Consolidated "Software design" — merged old Implementation (architecture, patterns, integrations, I/O) with old Software Design (design philosophy, trade-offs)
• Merged availability info into Summary — condensed to a single sentence
• Reordered AI usage disclosure before Acknowledgements (was after)
• Standardized heading capitalization to sentence case throughout
