(only SMS and Trusted Device are supported)

choose language and map provider sign in to your Apple account enter the verification code

Note

There is no Anisette server to choose any more. Older versions asked for one here, and it was the step people most often got stuck on. The app now produces that data on your phone. It still falls back to a server when it cannot, and you can still pick one yourself — see Anisette — but it is no longer something to set up before you start.

Which Apple account? Any valid one, unless you are going to let the app read your tags out of iCloud — in which case it has to be the account the tags are registered to. See the two routes.

3. 🏷️ Add your AirTags

Two ways now, and which you want depends on what you have:

  • Let the app read them from your Apple account — no computer at all. How to do that
  • Export a .zip on a computer and import it — for self-made tags, for an export somebody sent you, or if you would rather not sign the app in to the owning account. Export, then import
