Summary

Release preparation for 0.7.9 (stable, latest): version bump plus a dated changelog section consolidating what landed on main since 0.7.8.

Content of this release:

  • capability snapshot pinned to command-code@1.87.2, covering all 94 advertised models (#167, #169);
  • reviewed display pricing for minimax/minimax-m3.1-flash, ornith/ornith-1.5-122b and the capacity-limited reflection/beam:free, verified against the official page on 2026-10-22;
  • image input, reasoning and selectable efforts for meta/muse-spark-open and nvidia/nemotron-3.5-super-vl;
  • retirement of the models and promotions the API no longer advertises (stealth/cat-jam:free, inclusionai/ling-3.0-flash-sante:free, and the two promotions that ended on 2026-10-22);
  • npm lifecycle scripts disabled while the catalog checker inspects the published CLI package (#157).

No behavior changes beyond catalog data, pricing data and the catalog-inspection hardening; no API or configuration changes.

Verification (local, on 5d2f477)

  • npm test: PASS (all suites, including [pi-local] and [omp-compat]).
  • npm run format:check: PASS.
  • npm audit --audit-level=moderate: 0 vulnerabilities.
  • npm pack --dry-run: 32 files, 76.5 kB packed.
  • git diff --check: clean. actionlint not installed locally.

Release plan

Per RELEASE.md: merge this PR into main, push the annotated tag v0.7.9 on the merge commit, then let the tag-triggered workflow publish through npm Trusted Publishing. Verify npm latest, registry tarball integrity, SLSA provenance and the GitHub Release before announcing.

Memory benchmark

Compared base c771e34 with PR head 5d2f477 on the same GitHub-hosted darwin runner. Lower values are better.

Metric Base PR PR − Base Change
Stable RSS 120.0 MiB ± 1.1 MiB 120.0 MiB ± 0.9 MiB +0.2 MiB ± 1.1 MiB +0.2%
Physical footprint 67.0 MiB ± 0.8 MiB 66.1 MiB ± 0.9 MiB -0.7 MiB ± 0.9 MiB -1.1%
Physical peak 77.6 MiB ± 0.7 MiB 77.6 MiB ± 0.8 MiB -0.0 MiB ± 0.8 MiB -0.0%

Interpretation: No metric shows a clear Base-to-PR difference beyond its measured run-to-run variation.

Extension overhead above pi baseline

Metric Base overhead PR overhead Difference
Stable RSS +6.3 MiB ± 1.2 MiB +6.6 MiB ± 1.0 MiB +0.2 MiB ± 1.1 MiB
Physical footprint +3.6 MiB ± 0.4 MiB +3.4 MiB ± 1.1 MiB -0.7 MiB ± 0.9 MiB
Physical peak +5.4 MiB ± 1.3 MiB +5.1 MiB ± 1.1 MiB -0.0 MiB ± 0.8 MiB

Values are medians of 6 alternating, paired runs. The value after ± is the median absolute deviation (MAD). Each process was sampled 12 times after a 2500 ms warm-up.

Environment: pi 0.84.4, Bun 1.4.0, darwin arm64. RSS comes from ps; physical footprint and peak come from macOS footprint.

This is a comparative signal, not a pass/fail threshold. GitHub-hosted runner noise can affect absolute values.
