The eight Logger level methods and log() in src/Logger/Logger.php take string|Stringable|array. logger()->info([...]) no longer throws a TypeError.
log() reports an array message to the adapter as a pretty-printed JSON string, so the file adapters write it as the docs describe. If json_encode() cannot encode a value (NAN, invalid UTF-8) the partial output is written, and print_r() is the last fallback, so the message is never false.
log() also puts the original array in the payload key of the context. MessageAdapter, the debug-mode adapter, keeps $context['payload'] ?? $message, so the debugbar messages tab receives the array and shows it as an array, not as JSON text.
ReportableInterface and the other adapters are unchanged.
Added the Fixed entry to CHANGELOG.md.
Why
The Logger docs describe array messages as a supported way to log structured data, but the string|Stringable parameter type, added in 3.1, rejects them. Widening ReportableInterface::report() would break every custom adapter that declares string|Stringable, so the array is converted in Logger and carried in the context for the one adapter that can use it.
Breaking changes
None for callers. A class that extends Logger and overrides one of the level methods or log() with string|Stringable must accept an array too, since PHP rejects a narrower parameter in an override. The changelog entry says so.
Testing
New tests:
tests/Unit/Logger/LoggerTest.php: every level method and log() report an array as pretty-printed JSON; the adapter gets the original array in $context['payload'] and keeps the other context keys; an array with NAN or invalid UTF-8 still reports a string; a string message leaves the context alone.
tests/Unit/Logger/Adapters/MessageAdapterTest.php: the payload is kept as the array; a message without a payload is unchanged.
tests/Unit/Debugger/DebuggerTest.php: an array logged through logger() reaches the messages tab collector as an array, next to a text message.
All of these fail without the change. I also ran a generated web module end to end: with debug on, the page's debugbar data holds the array as an array (is_string: false); with debug off, logs/app.log holds the pretty-printed JSON.
Notes for reviewers
The global helpers info(), error() and the others still take a string. This pull request covers logger()->... as the ticket does.
The is_array branch in LoggerTrait::formatMessage() stays; it is unreachable now that adapters get a string, and removing it is a separate cleanup.
Logging methods now accept array messages without raising a TypeError. Arrays are formatted as readable JSON in log output, while the original array remains available as structured message data.
The debug message view preserves array messages as arrays, making their structure easier to inspect. Existing string messages continue to work as before.
Logger methods now accept array messages. The logger reports pretty-printed JSON while preserving the original array in context for the debug messages tab.

Summary
Accept and encode array messages src/Logger/Logger.php, tests/Unit/Logger/LoggerTest.php
Severity methods and log() accept arrays. log() adds the original array to context['payload'] and reports pretty-printed JSON, falling back to print_r if JSON encoding fails. Tests cover array and string messages, context, and encoding failure.
Retain and display array payloads src/Logger/Adapters/MessageAdapter.php, tests/Unit/Logger/Adapters/MessageAdapterTest.php, tests/Unit/Debugger/DebuggerTest.php, CHANGELOG.md
MessageAdapter stores the context payload when present, and its message annotations include arrays. Tests check payload retention and debugger display. The changelog documents the behavior and subclass compatibility requirement.

A string log message can be replaced by its payload in the debugbar, and an array log message can overwrite caller-supplied payload context. The change is mergeable with this bounded issue accepted or fixed.

Explanation
The title "Issue/613 Let Logger accept array messages" names the main change. The changeset widens the eight PSR-3 level methods and log() to accept array messages, converts arrays to pretty-printed JSON for adapters, and stores the original array in context['payload']. The title is specific and matches the primary objective. The only weakness is the issue-number prefix, which adds no meaning for a reader scanning history, but it does not make the title unrelated or vague.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed files are src/Logger/Logger.php, src/Logger/Adapters/MessageAdapter.php, the three test files, and CHANGELOG.md. All of them serve #613.
Logger.php: widens the message type and converts arrays. This is the core of the requested fix.
MessageAdapter.php: uses context['payload'] ?? $message, so the debugbar messages tab keeps the array. This follows from the chosen approach and the debugger test in #613's scope.
Test files: cover the new behavior.
CHANGELOG.md: the changelog entry required by #613.
No unrelated change was found in the summarized scope. ReportableInterface and the other adapters are unchanged, as the PR states.
Side effect to note (not a scope failure): MessageAdapter now reports context['payload'] for any message type. A caller that passes a payload key with a string message would have that value reported instead of the message. Logger does not guard against this. The PR does not mention it.

Explanation
Issue #613 is the only active direct target. Its coding requirements are: (a) behavior matches the docs that describe array messages, (b) a test logs an array through logger() with a file adapter and checks the written output, (c) composer test, cs:check, phpstan and rector:check pass on PHP 8.1 to 8.3, and (d) a changelog entry.
Met by the code at the reviewed head:
[#613] Logger.php: the eight level methods and log() accept string|Stringable|array. logger()->info([...]) no longer throws a TypeError.
[#613] log() passes arrays to the adapter as pretty-printed JSON (JSON_PARTIAL_OUTPUT_ON_ERROR, print_r fallback). This matches the documented behavior.
[#613] ReportableInterface is unchanged, as the issue allows for option 1.
[#613] The changelog entry is reported in the PR description and the AI summary. The CHANGELOG.md diff could not be read, so this is not confirmed from the diff.
[#613] LoggerTest.php (head) covers every level method and log() with an array, using a private recording adapter. It also covers the payload context key, NAN/invalid UTF-8 fallback, and string context. MessageAdapterTest and DebuggerTest cover the messages tab path.
Unmet requirement:
[#613] No automated test logs an array through logger() with a file adapter and checks the written output. LoggerTest uses a recording adapter. MessageAdapter is used elsewhere. The file-adapter check exists only as a manual end-to-end run (logs/app.log) in the PR description, which is not an automated test.
Not verified:
[#613] The four composer commands on PHP 8.1 to 8.3 are not reported in the PR description. No CI result was available for review.
Resolution
Add an automated test that sets up the file adapter (for example, the Logger file adapter writing to a temporary directory), calls logger()->info([...]) or another level method with an array, and asserts that the written file contains the pretty-printed JSON of the array. Also report passing results of composer test, composer cs:check, composer phpstan and composer rector:check on PHP 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3.

Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win
Keep caller context separate from array-message metadata.
If code calls logger()->error('Request failed', ['payload' => ['id' => 1]]), this line stores the payload instead of Request failed. The debugbar messages tab loses the error text. For an array message, Logger::log() at src/Logger/Logger.php Line 118 also overwrites a caller-supplied payload value. Preserve caller context and identify array messages through a separate internal signal. PSR-3 permits arbitrary context data. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Closing this one. The change converts an array to JSON inside Logger and passes the original array to MessageAdapter in the context, so that ReportableInterface can stay string|Stringable. That is a workaround for a contract that rejects arrays, and the context key can collide with the caller's own data.
The fix will be the contract itself: ReportableInterface::report() and the Logger methods accept string|Stringable|array, Logger passes the message through unchanged, and each adapter renders it (the file adapters as pretty-printed JSON, MessageAdapter as the array for the debugbar). Widening the interface breaks custom adapters that declare string|Stringable, so #613 moves to the 3.2.0 milestone and gets a new pull request there.
