🟡 Unrelated example formatting obscures feature changes
The README reformats existing quick-start and integration examples unrelated to card limits. This adds review noise contrary to the repository's focused-change rule.
Learn more
The repository's focused-change rule asks contributors to avoid drive-by cleanup and unrelated formatting churn. Existing examples throughout the README changed quote style, commas, and wrapping even though the card-limit feature does not affect them. Keeping those lines unchanged isolates the feature documentation for review.
Example: The direct-client quick start now uses double quotes and trailing commas; the Axios, Fetch, Node HTTP, and vault examples receive similar changes without behavior changes.
Recommended fix: Restore the original formatting in existing README examples while retaining the new card-limit documentation.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Restore the core package installation commands.
The Installation section now starts with card spending limits and no longer tells readers how to install @sapiom/core. Restore the npm, pnpm, and yarn commands before this subsection so new users can follow the package setup instructions.

🟡 Minor · Remove the unsupported refund-recording claim. · card-spending-limits.md:5

📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winRemove the unsupported refund-recording claim.
.changeset/card-spending-limits.mdpromises trusted confirmed-refund recording, but this release exports only spending-limit read/write methods. The README also states that no refund-confirmation API exists. This release note can lead integrators to expect a method that is not available.Suggested fix
-Add card spending-limit management and trusted confirmed-refund recording. These methods require the corresponding backend API deployment and management permissions. +Add card spending-limit management. The snippet calls
client.paymentCards...and passescardId, but it does not initialize either identifier. Copying the snippet into a TypeScript file therefore fails before an integrator can call the API. Add the missing client setup and card ID source, or link to a complete example. This is separate from restoring the removed package installation commands.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

What
Add trusted card spending-limit read/write helpers and typed shared payment usage to the public core client.
Why
Integrators need versioned settings over ordinary payment Rules. The backend counts card credential release as spent; there is no reliable M0 purchase/refund feed and no refund-confirmation method.
How to review
Review
PaymentCardsAPI, its transport/version-conflict tests and the usage types. Other matching payment rules appear inadditionalLimits; editing one card does not change them. The README, changelog and reusable example document optional limits, UTC periods, resets and irreversible spend. The Test workflow also covers branch-based stacks, retaining read-only permissions, pinned actions and checkout credentials disabled. The existing Chromium lifecycle fix is inherited from current main.
Local verification of the combined #1239/#1251 stack passes: 137 core tests, 76 browser tests including real Chromium integration, core/browser type checks, CJS/ESM builds, core lint, CI security checks and PR-labeler checks. The built client also passes the recorded HTTP/PostgreSQL engineering demonstration against the backend stack (#5850 → #5854 → #5856). Package publication and production verification remain pending.
Risk & rollout
Release only alongside the matching backend routes/types. Keep management credentials outside the purchasing agent. Fix-forward: correct the thin client/type contract and publish a follow-up package without altering backend accounting or resetting allowances.
