Issues

• W018 ROOT_NO_DECISION fires on roots that have direct decision mappings

shitchell/gvp#46 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Oct 6, 2026

• Provenance identity: import and mv bypass requireUserIdentity and silently write entries with no by, and only review can override who authored a write

  bug
shitchell/gvp#45 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Oct 6, 2026

• cairn add/edit write list fields as strings, producing an element the CLI then refuses to load

• Revisit: how is it going without W005, and do we want an opt-in version? (reminder, no action now)

• Trial programme: does changing an element change outcomes? (trial 1 negative — evaluative elements do not steer)

• Review queue is inverted against personal:P15: new guiding elements never surface, decisions do

  enhancement

• A decision can record what rejected alternatives cost, but not what the chosen path spent

  enhancement
shitchell/gvp#38 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 26, 2026

• Design discussion: suppress_diagnostics unions across config layers, so a suppression is a one-way door

• Project walk-up does not stop at $HOME, so $HOME/.gvp/config.yaml acts as a positional project config for the whole home tree

• DEC-2.8 meta.definitions._all.field_schemas is silently stripped: declared in the decision, absent from the schema

  bug
shitchell/gvp#35 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 26, 2026

• No typed supersession link: a deprecated element cannot say what replaced it (blocks #26, #30, #31)

  enhancement
shitchell/gvp#33 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 26, 2026

• cairn mv leaves an id gap and no tombstone; a refilled id silently misresolves downstream references

  bug
shitchell/gvp#31 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 25, 2026

• No command changes an element's category: reclassification forces hand-editing, leaving id gaps and reuse hazards

  enhancement
shitchell/gvp#30 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 25, 2026

• Rule/heuristic definitions are under-determined: no product-vs-practice axis, and the skill never mentions cairn libs

• cairn add/edit -f: non-JSON list values silently written as strings, wedging the library

shitchell/gvp#23 · Filter by author shmitchel opened on Sep 25, 2026

• Source-resolver git tests leak /tmp directories (838 accumulated)

  bug
shitchell/gvp#19 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Sep 4, 2026

• All GVP libraries should carry a portable UUID that survives publication and fetch

• Release & distribution UX: CHANGELOG, GitHub Releases, ship docs/skill via npm

shitchell/gvp#14 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Jul 22, 2026

• cairn edit --field-file corrupts structured fields, takes the whole library offline, and cannot be undone by the tool

• mapping_rules reform: anchor derived elements to a value + any non-value root (inheritance-aware, warn→strict)

• Feature: read/validate a library blended with an un-imported patch (lib + patch overlay)

shitchell/gvp#5 · Filter by author shitchell opened on Jul 20, 2026

• cairn import accepts refs without identifier but then deadlocks the library (lenient-write / strict-load schema split)
