IAM password policy and alias, KMS ListRetirableGrants, EventBridge UpdateEventBus, Logs query definitions, DynamoDB Contributor Insights - #128
Conversation
…Bridge UpdateEventBus, DynamoDB Contributor Insights IAM: UpdateAccountPasswordPolicy and DeleteAccountPasswordPolicy with AWS defaults and range checks; GetAccountPasswordPolicy returns the stored policy. CreateAccountAlias and DeleteAccountAlias with AWS's alias rules; ListAccountAliases returns it. Both are kept in the state file. KMS: ListRetirableGrants across all keys, paginated, authorized on *. EventBridge: UpdateEventBus (description, dead-letter queue with the sqs:SendMessage check, KMS key), including the default bus. CloudWatch Logs: query definitions validate maxResults; tests cover update, pagination and persistence. DynamoDB: UpdateContributorInsights and ListContributorInsights; DescribeContributorInsights reports the stored status per table and GSI. Settings go with the table or index when it is deleted. Docs and changelog updated.

💡 Result:
Yes. **`dynamodb:ListContributorInsights` does not support resource-level permissions**, so an IAM policy must use `"Resource": "*"`. AWS lists no resource type for this action and describes it as listing summaries across the account and endpoint. That’s different from `dynamodb:DescribeContributorInsights`, which supports table and index resources. ([docs.aws.amazon.com](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/service-authorization/latest/reference/list_dynamodb.html?utm_source=openai))

Restrict default-bus synthesis to store.ErrNotFound.
store.Get returns an unmarshal error when a persisted default bus cannot be decoded. bus must not treat that error as a missing bus. This can make DescribeEventBus return a fabricated default bus. UpdateEventBus does not succeed in this case because store.Update decodes the persisted value again and returns the decode error.
Also, allBuses ignores bus's boolean result. After the fallback is restricted, ListEventBuses would still append the zero-value bus for a decode failure. Honor ok before appending the default bus.

Avoid lost updates on the first update of the default bus.
The first update of the default bus uses store.Has followed by an unconditional store.Put. If two UpdateEventBus calls on the default bus run at the same time, both calls can see that no default bus is stored. Both calls then write a full Bus built from the synthesized default bus. The second write discards the field that the first call set. For example, one call sets only the description and the other sets only the DLQ. The result keeps only one of these fields. Use one atomic operation for both cases: an upsert inside one store transaction, or a store.Update that seeds the default bus when no record exists.

Use 6 as the default minimum password length.
When UpdateAccountPasswordPolicy omits MinimumPasswordLength, this call stores 8. AWS specifies 6 for an omitted value. Change the default to 6 and update the expectation in cli/internal/svc/iam/aws_test.go at Line 552. (docs.aws.amazon.com)

Apply the ListRetirableGrants limit rules before calling page.
If a request sets Limit to 101, this handler accepts it. If a request omits Limit, the shared helper uses 100 instead of 50. An explicit zero is also treated as omitted. AWS permits 1–100 and defaults to 50. Preserve whether Limit was supplied, reject values outside that range, and pass 50 for an omitted limit. Add boundary cases to the test. (docs.aws.amazon.com)
