benshi_daemon::config reads config.toml in the configuration directory, with [send] and [list]. Where there is no file or no configuration directory, the daemon runs on the defaults. A length of time is written as humantime reads it and is a minute at the least, and refresh and on_miss also take "off".

  • A file that cannot be read, TOML that does not parse, a key or a table this build does not know, or a value a key does not take stops the daemon before it binds the socket. What it says names the line and the column where toml gives a place.
  • The daemon says where its settings came from ahead of listening on.
  • No task reads a setting.
  • toml 1.1.6 is added with std, serde and parse.
benshi: settings from /home/viewer/.config/benshi/config.toml
benshi: default settings: no /home/viewer/.config/benshi/config.toml
benshi: /home/viewer/.config/benshi/config.toml cannot be used: line 2, column 8: unknown variant `sometimes`, expected one of `each`, `close`, `interval`, `manual`

cargo test --workspace passes, 935 tests.

A file that cannot be used stops the daemon before it listens.
