Letter-prefixed version pairing src/utils/format-model-name.ts |
The formatter accepts a one- or two-digit version token with an optional leading v, k, or m when joining it to a numeric version component. |
Brand casing and model examples src/utils/format-model-name.ts, test/format-model-name.test.ts |
The formatter maps DeepSeek and MiniMax to specified casing and treats GLM as an acronym. Documentation and tests add examples for additional model names. |

- Line 22: Update looksLikePrefixedVersionComponent so quantization tokens
matching q followed by digits are excluded from version pairing, while
preserving the existing matching behavior for other tokens. Add a regression
test for llama-3.1-8b-instruct-q4_0 that confirms the version remains merged and
the quantization suffix is not formatted as Q4.0.

Thanks for this. The brand casing (DeepSeek, MiniMax, GLM) and the v3.2 / k2.5 / m2.5 joins work well, and all tests pass.
One regression to fix before merging: quantization suffixes
looksLikePrefixedVersionComponent (/^[a-z]?\d{1,2}$/i) also matches q4, q8, q5. The second commit only avoids the problem when the id also contains a digits-only version pair (e.g. llama-3.1-…-q4_0). When it doesn't, a quantization suffix now gets joined with a dot:
| id | main | this PR |
|---|---|---|
mistral-7b-instruct-q4_0 |
Mistral 7B Instruct Q4 0 | Mistral 7B Instruct Q4.0 |
llama3-8b-q8_0 |
Llama3 8B Q8 0 | Llama3 8B Q8.0 |
phi-3-mini-q5_1 |
Phi 3 Mini Q5 1 | Phi 3 Mini Q5.1 |
gemma-2-9b-it-q4_0 |
Gemma 2 9B IT Q4 0 | Gemma 2 9B IT Q4.0 |
Suggested fix: don't treat q as a version letter, e.g.
function looksLikePrefixedVersionComponent(token: string): boolean {
// `q` is a quantization prefix (`q4_0`, `q8_0`), not a version letter.
return /^[a-pr-z]?\d{1,2}$/i.test(token)
}Please also add a test case with no digits-only pair, such as ['mistral-7b-instruct-q4_0', 'Mistral 7B Instruct Q4 0']. With q excluded, the prefixedMerge fallback might be unnecessary. Check whether it's still needed or can be simplified.
Minor, not blocking
deepseek-v2.5-1210still rendersDeepSeek V2 5 1210, because a digits-only token after the pair blocks the join. This already happens on main, so it's fine to leave for a follow-up.['gpt/dall-e-3', 'Dall E 3']locks in the current behavior rather than the correctDALL·E 3. It's fine as a test of existing behavior, but maybe add a comment saying it isn't the intended output.
Summary
This PR improves
formatModelName()so that it can parse brand names correctly (e.g.,deepseek->DeepSeek,glm->GLM) and can tolerate a single leading letter in version number (e.g.,v3,k2,m2).Closes #49
