Layev training runs now flow through Overwatch's collector, versioned raw cache, report service, and React resources view. This branch preserves Flow filtering, cloud inventory, scheduler authority, and cache-only rendering. It also guards malformed cache versions and adds backend/frontend CI gates.

Verified on the primary Windows checkout:

  • Cache and CI source tests: 44 passed on an isolated Python 3.13.12 environment. This is not the full locked backend suite.
  • Ruff passed; frontend typecheck, 8 Vitest tests, locked npm install, and production build passed.
  • Both new commits are verified SSH-signed. Hosted frontend-typecheck-vitest-build passed on the current head.

Open acceptance gates:

  • Hosted backend-lint-and-locked-tests failed its fail-closed preflight because the authorized TSCORE CodeArtifact token is absent from the overwatch-ci environment. Local uv run --locked also receives 401 for typesafe==0.2.2. No private dependency was replaced or Python requirement relaxed.
  • A fresh real Layev export has not yet passed collector -> raw-v2 cache -> cached_metrics -> report -> populated loopback UI, including screenshot/browser-error readback. The remote S3/W&B production transport gate is also open.

Keep this PR draft until the authorized credential route, full supported backend tests, and visible integration evidence are complete. Related issues: #2, #3, #4, #5. Layev source-hardening PR #1 is already merged.

Response-guard source delivery: verified SSH-signed 5a7e441 adds strict W&B page completion/cursor validation and response cleanup on malformed Content-Length. Focused Python 3.13.12 tests: 110 passed, 1 skipped (fresh producer missing); critical Ruff E9/F and compilation passed. Full locked backend and real S3/W&B/visible-UI acceptance remain open. Keep this PR draft until those gates pass.

Execution-session source-work receipt — 2026-09-27

This remains the single existing integration PR, draft and unmerged at 11f32c597f3763137b041e7d867d346e782b3bf9. Its existing commit has a verified/valid SSH signature. Live head readback returned zero check runs. No source commits or pushes were made in this session because the configured workstation SSH signer and primary checkout are not reachable; an unsigned or differently signed API commit was not substituted.

Implemented source patches are supplied in jev-acceptance-source-patches-2026-09-27.zip in the corresponding chat, with exact base/preimage/postimage hashes and test receipts:

  • #2: locked backend/frontend CI, secret-safe prerequisite checks and setup documentation. 16/16 pure source/preflight tests, not the authenticated backend suite. Patch SHA-256: 2a7007954eb1bd5f0a76e3389d0331dc9db2b3c8dda5eb4ccafdd5435e167a73.
  • #4: guard malformed cache versions in both adapter entry points, preserving raw-v1/raw-v2 values, unknowns and scheduler authority. New tests against original source: 8 failed / 20 passed; patched: 28 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped. These are direct adapter tests with synthetic cache data on Python 3.13.5, below the application's supported minimum—not producer or live-UI evidence. Patch SHA-256: 51cb3807633928e2c63401fcc61f9d0538c073a651be00f2218f778e8ebe6cda.
  • Independent Layev #6: installable typed client and hosted source-gate changes; 15/15 source and 15/15 installed-tarball transport tests on Node 22.16.0 / TypeScript 5.8.3. Servers were synthetic TCP fixtures, not Layev or the official SDK. Patch SHA-256: c1749bb4352a421dfd10725b27a9624ffcb88bc4460ac74339deaf1909eca27f.

All three patches passed git apply --check and exact postimage comparison on fetched preimages. This is not a claim that repository-wide checks passed or that the patches were applied to the workstation.

Unchanged acceptance blockers

#3 still needs the genuine fresh train/checkpoint/calibration/evaluation export, supported locked backend, collector/cache/report readback and actual populated UI/browser-error receipt—including source disappearance and restart recovery. The session cannot identify or inspect the running workstation service, so no screenshot or report success is claimed.

#5 and Layev #10 still need existing authorized bounded S3/W&B targets and runtime credentials. No live collection, publication, run creation or finishing occurred.

The original 45-feature research file was not available in this execution session, including the Library lookup; no replacement matrix or invented feature IDs were published. The pinned native tokenizer/CUDA/trained-context/quality gates remain open. No Jev calls were made; existing access, applicable data permission and paid budget were not established for an executable comparison, so Jev parity remains unknown.

Layev #8 now records the actual branch-protection HTTP 403 integration blocker separately from the already successful five historical CI checks.

Keep this PR draft and all affected issues open until signed delivery, full required checks, and their native/live acceptance evidence are complete. The workstation, existing run identities and WSL were not modified.

Continuation receipt — 2026-09-27, reconciled with concurrent repository delivery

This comment supersedes its earlier head/check-count snapshot. No source commit, push, merge, workstation edit or WSL operation was performed by this continuation session. Other delivery work advanced both repositories while this session was running; that work is now reflected below rather than being described as unpublished or attributed to this session.

Current observed delivery

  • Layev: PR #11 merged the TypeScript package portion of #6, at b4cb9df97be61729ebd68b8e0f5ee9bb2d193c73. Source commit 6ad6ee8770eaebf9e68f2ee30fd5c33bf328e145 has a verified SSH signature; the GitHub merge commit has a verified PGP signature. All five established checks pass on this merged main commit in run 36305789586. The issue's newer workstation receipt reports a real loopback interface verification on an 8-step calibrated CPU byte-tokenizer fixture, not native Qwen/quality/Jev evidence. Official SDK/native-service acceptance remains open.
  • Overwatch: this remains the single existing integration PR, open, draft and unmerged, now at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39 on feat/layev-model-runs; main remains 501bd99a0cb0c6b321feb022f5747d6dcbd5e9c4. The cache guard and CI changes are already on this branch; do not reapply the old patches or create another integration PR. Fresh GitHub readback confirms the current head's verified/valid SSH signature.
  • Hosted results: run 36305664862 has frontend-typecheck-vitest-build passed and backend-lint-and-locked-tests failed. The decoded backend job 108581702145 shows successful Python 3.13.12 setup followed by BLOCKED: missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, exit 2. The locked backend suite did not run. The missing token must be supplied through the already authorized protected-environment route; no dependency removal, weakened gate, bypass or unchanged rerun was used.

New source work from this continuation

Layev #2 records a six-file versioned literal-bpe-v3 repair candidate, an explicit offline pinned-tokenizer gate and regression tests. Patch: layev-tokenizer-v3.patch; SHA-256 67f5354f2873a5c4ca284b9c068325a5004703f107b32ff4628519cd6e41454a. It is not committed, pushed, native-validated or merged. The patch's modified preimages are unchanged by the 080aa718... → b4cb9df... comparison, which touches only the TypeScript client and existing CI workflow.

Measured here: 55 source-contract/preflight tests passed, zero skipped, with the original source failing 30 of the 38 new literal-contract cases before the repair. These use an explicitly labeled tokenizer double, not Rust/Qwen. Actual native-gate invocation exits 2 with missing prerequisites and zero native literal cases executed. Patch apply/reverse checks and six postimage hashes pass. The full repository suite was not executable from this partial source copy.

The earlier TypeScript tests were independently rerun here: typecheck, 15/15 source transport tests and 15/15 installed-package transport tests pass. These use synthetic TCP responses and are separate from the workstation fixture-service receipt.

The continuation delivery bundle is jev-acceptance-continuation-2026-09-27.zip in the corresponding chat. Only the new tokenizer candidate is an active patch; previous patches are retained as historical artifacts with their now-delivered status.

Remaining acceptance

Overwatch #2/#3/#4/#5 and Layev #2–#10 remain open. This runtime cannot reach the primary workstation/service, configured SSH signer, pinned native model/CUDA environment, original 45-feature matrix, or existing authorized live transport targets. It does not independently certify workstation cleanliness/divergence. The supported authenticated backend, fresh producer→collector→cache→report→populated UI (including recovery/browser readback), native model/context/quality gates, and approved remote/Jev evidence remain required. No Jev calls were made; parity remains unknown. Keep this PR draft until its acceptance gates are actually demonstrated.

Latest acceptance reconciliation

Live recheck now finds head ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39, following cache commit 1ea1bf2d67bb9925f27e7f71502047798710064c. Both Git commit signatures are verified/valid SSH signatures. This session did not create those commits. In hosted run 36305664862, frontend-typecheck-vitest-build passed and backend-lint-and-locked-tests failed; the current PR/issue report identifies missing_authorized_tscore_index_token. My earlier zero-check observation was for the old 11f32c5 head only, not the current head.

This session's independent cache candidate is superseded by the already committed repair and must not be applied as a second repair. Its historical component evidence and current disposition are recorded at #4 (comment). No competing integration PR was created.

Keep this existing PR draft. The full supported locked backend, fresh producer→collector→raw-v2 cache→cached_metrics→report→populated loopback UI, and authorized remote gates remain unproven here. I have not accessed the primary Windows checkout/service or its configured signer, so no local synchronization, clean-state, zero-divergence, live report or screenshot claim is made. The API field mergeable=true is not acceptance evidence or permission to merge with the backend failing.

Independent documentation/readback continuation — 2026-09-27

Final readback supersedes the earlier heads and zero-check report

Layev PR #11 is merged: Jev-Engineering/layev#11. Main is b4cb9df97be61729ebd68b8e0f5ee9bb2d193c73, and all five current-main checks succeeded in run 36305789586. Package commit 6ad6ee8770eaebf9e68f2ee30fd5c33bf328e145 has a verified SSH signature; the merge has a verified GitHub PGP signature. The branch listing still reports protected:false. Layev #6 remains open for official SDK/native-service acceptance. Its workstation fixture HTTP and clean/divergence report was read, not independently rerun in this container.

This PR remains draft/unmerged at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39. Cache commit 1ea1bf2d67bb9925f27e7f71502047798710064c and the CI head both have verified SSH signatures. The actual hosted readback has frontend success and backend failure in run 36305664862. Backend job 108581702145 records BLOCKED: missing_authorized_tscore_index_token and exit code 2 before the locked backend suite. Do not reapply the prior cache/CI patches already present on this PR.

Those source commits and the Layev merge were performed outside this execution session; this session verified the remote records, not the primary workstation filesystem.

Independent documentation candidate

The two-file documentation work recorded on Layev #8 and Layev #9 has been refreshed for the newer readback. Final layev-readiness-readback.patch SHA-256: ffe4027ad9656d00aaffc5881d6d287e71d5c43f1c26c4b2cbf32485637833ab, targeting Layev b4cb9df97be61729ebd68b8e0f5ee9bb2d193c73. It supersedes the earlier e9444783df3510ed8f8ba1c1d55874c970e093c4caa10727751d4bed24131821 patch, which is retained as historical evidence in the delivery bundle. GitHub's full comparison from the old main changes only workflow/TypeScript paths; the two document preimages are unchanged. JSON preservation invariants, patch/application/reverse checks and exact postimage comparisons pass. This is not a full-checkout test. The documentation patch is still uncommitted, unpushed and unmerged.

A pre-publication refresh detected the other tokenizer candidate recorded on Layev #2, SHA-256 67f5354f2873a5c4ca284b9c068325a5004703f107b32ff4628519cd6e41454a, mode literal-bpe-v3. This session did not overwrite that receipt. Its independently prepared literal-special-v3 alternative is segregated as unselected; do not stack. The other candidate's actual bytes were not retrieved for code-level reconciliation. Neither candidate has native proof from this runtime.

Delivery: jev-acceptance-audit-and-patches-2026-09-27.zip in the corresponding chat, SHA-256 f39b0e0727c48d0f442581c562ed0fd20dbbc396bc2c9148d9e5791e80f6e867. The 53-file checksum manifest was verified. It contains the refreshed documentation candidate, quarantined alternative and test receipts, unchanged historical delivery ZIP, and final per-issue status. No automatic application or merge is included.

All 13 requested issues remain open in the final issue query. This session created no source commits, pushes, merges or closures and made no workstation/WSL/live-service changes. Keep this PR draft until the supported authenticated backend, fresh producer-to-visible-UI evidence and required signed/hosted delivery gates are demonstrated. Original 45-feature provenance, native/CUDA/trained-context/quality, and authorized S3/W&B/Jev acceptance remain unverified.

Acceptance reconciliation — 2026-09-27

Live state advanced during this independent review session; the earlier unpublished-bundle / zero-check statements are now historical, not current:

  • Layev PR #11 is merged at b4cb9df97be61729ebd68b8e0f5ee9bb2d193c73. GitHub readback verifies the SSH-signed source commit 6ad6ee8770eaebf9e68f2ee30fd5c33bf328e145, the GitHub-signed merge, and five successful merged-main checks in run 36305789586. This completes the delivered TypeScript package portion, not all of Layev #6.
  • This existing PR remains draft/unmerged at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39. The cache commit 1ea1bf2d67bb9925f27e7f71502047798710064c and CI commit both read back as verified SSH signatures. Run 36305664862 has successful frontend-typecheck-vitest-build and failed backend-lint-and-locked-tests. The actual backend job log reaches supported Python 3.13.12, then exits 2 with missing_authorized_tscore_index_token; it does not execute the locked backend suite.

Do not reapply the old three-patch bundle: the TypeScript work is on Layev main and the cache/CI work is already on this PR. Backend authentication, full locked tests, genuine producer-to-report-to-populated-UI evidence, and authorized remote transport gates remain open. No draft conversion or merge is justified by the source/fixture results.

A separate tokenizer source candidate was developed in this review session, but Layev #2 concurrently acquired another unpublished candidate (67f5354f2873a5c4ca284b9c068325a5004703f107b32ff4628519cd6e41454a). The review-session candidate (16462a846089a38ad59e59b98c0044ec9792335a23418053e2871bae2b48902c) is held for comparison only, not application or publication: both use literal-bpe-v3, and output-token counting policy requires exact-source reconciliation. The other candidate's bytes were not retrieved, so no equivalence is claimed. This session measured 76 source tests passed / 1 real-Rust dependency test skipped; the pinned-Qwen gate remained blocked. Those counts are neither native evidence nor additive to the other candidate's test count.

This session did not make source commits, push, merge, modify the workstation/WSL, or inspect its running service. The newer workstation execution and delivery are verified through GitHub readback, not attributed to this review session. No acceptance criterion was weakened or checked off.

Acceptance continuation: current-head readback and additional model-source review candidate

This remains the single integration PR, draft and unmerged, now at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39. I re-read the actual hosted checks: frontend-typecheck-vitest-build completed/success; backend-lint-and-locked-tests completed/failure. The backend job log for run 36305664862 records BLOCKED: missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, exit 2, under Python 3.13.12. This supersedes the earlier zero-check/unpushed-CI observation, but is not authenticated backend or populated-UI acceptance.

Separately delivered Layev PR #11 is merged at b4cb9df97be61729ebd68b8e0f5ee9bb2d193c73. Its source commit 6ad6ee8770eaebf9e68f2ee30fd5c33bf328e145 has a verified/valid SSH signature; the merge has a verified/valid GitHub PGP signature. All five main checks passed in run 36305789586. Main still reports protected:false; this connection's protection read returned HTTP 403. These commits/merges were not performed by this execution.

Additional source candidate for Jev-Engineering/layev#2

A distinct uncommitted, unpushed eleven-file candidate is provided in the chat review bundle as layev-tokenizer-v3-full-suite.patch, SHA-256 b35e480d7b74dbe833a244564a9775bce38e3be49e8d29566792f7aaa0b55098. It is not source in this PR and is not a native pass. All preexisting touched files are unchanged between the verified 080aa718 preimages and the new Layev main; the actual local tests used a recovered source snapshot, not a locked clean clone of the newer complete main.

The candidate uses literal-special-v3: no added-token extraction (including special=False), no NFC normalization, exact decode equality, forbidden original added/control IDs, original artifact/output backend preservation, explicit unsafe-v2 refusal, checkpoint-copy hash checking, and tokenizer preflight before native weight allocation. Its non-skipping real-artifact gate records implementation and artifact hashes and checks that only the expected ContextOverflow satisfies a budget-rejection test.

Measured here on Linux Python 3.13.5 / Torch 2.10.0+cpu:

  • Recovered original suite: 280 passed / 5 skipped; final candidate: 326 passed / 5 skipped. Focused contracts: 79 passed, a subset of the full suite. The skips remain official SDK, CUDA FP32, CUDA BF16, Rust tokenizer and pinned tokenizer.
  • Twenty new literal-contract cases fail against the original encoding and pass against the repair using a deliberately labeled byte/added-token/NFC double. This is not Qwen or Rust evidence.
  • Compileall, snapshot source audit, unchanged schema generation, 24-configuration CPU FP32 numerical audit and exact same-policy miniature resume passed. Existing numerical tolerances were unchanged.
  • Final wheel matched 26 runtime modules and four license files; installed import/CLI and 12 real loopback HTTP requests (93 questions) passed with the miniature CPU checkpoint and explicitly shared existing public dependencies. Initial missing-Torch/httpx failures are retained. This is not native weights, locked dependency resolution or Overwatch's backend.
  • Exact-preimage indexed patch check/application/reverse-check, eleven postimage hashes and overlapping-edit refusal passed in a disposable uncommitted tree. Ruff was unavailable; hosted checks for this patch were not run.
  • The actual real-tokenizer gate here exited 2 / blocked, executing zero literal cases because the pinned runtime/artifact prerequisites were unavailable. No independently verified pinned tokenizer digest or native acceptance is claimed.

Issue #2 already records other unpublished candidates with hashes 67f5354f2873a5c4ca284b9c068325a5004703f107b32ff4628519cd6e41454a and 2f3ca1d00f792b122244d92c8597a2eb3a0057d09ff115f9f1cd4b834960bff0. Their bytes were not retrieved here. Do not stack these patches, overwrite pending workstation work, or combine their test totals. Reconcile one implementation before configured SSH-signed delivery and native testing.

Unchanged open gates

#2 and #3 still require the authorized private-index route, full supported locked backend and genuine fresh collector/cache/report/visible-UI evidence. #4 is pushed here but not merged. #5 and Jev-Engineering/layev#10 still need approved live S3/W&B targets and credentials. Jev-Engineering/layev#9 still lacks the original matrix bytes/provenance in this execution; no feature labels were invented. Native weights/CUDA, trained context, representative quality and the retained case=99999 regression remain unverified. No Jev calls or paid workloads occurred; parity is unknown.

No source commit, push, new PR, merge, issue closure, workstation synchronization, running-report/UI inspection or use of the configured workstation signer was performed by this execution. The primary checkout/worktree/service state was not accessible here. No existing run or WSL instance was modified. Keep this PR draft and the affected acceptance issues open.

Additional artifact-identity reconciliation — source-only, no acceptance closure

I preserved the concurrent exact-source A/B reconciliation now recorded in Layev #2, rather than replacing its evidence or creating another tokenizer implementation or integration PR.

Distinct artifact-identity finding: the recovered historical jev-acceptance-audit-and-patches-2026-09-27.zip contains a six-file literal-special-v3 patch with SHA-256 2f27b0a91bab73697552994f437a425d01cfefc30231a960ade7e2952270e370 (C0). The later Layev #2 comment identifies a different seven-file patch, SHA-256 2f3ca1d00f792b122244d92c8597a2eb3a0057d09ff115f9f1cd4b834960bff0 (C1). C0 matches its own archive manifest; this is not a corruption claim. C1's actual bytes were not retrieved in this session. Do not transfer C1's reported 322/6 or 75/1 test totals to C0, or substitute C0 for the artifact named in that comment.

I independently implemented a non-applying, manifest-pinned differential diagnostic and its safety tests in the accompanying chat bundle jev-reconciliation-2026-09-27.zip. 36 diagnostic tests passed, zero failed/skipped on Python 3.13.5. Its direct invocation intentionally exits 1, reproducing the A/B identity collision with zero native/model/checkpoint cases. In this particular 12-sample synthetic recording-backend corpus, eight output-ID/count cases differ and four controls agree; this corpus is different from the concurrent issue diagnostic and the counts must not be combined. Examples remain 1 vs 14 for the literal delimiter and 2 vs 3 for decomposed e + U+0301. These are not Qwen token counts or production billing evidence.

Diagnostic SHA-256: 7f210aad9beb0e4125f3402ee03db9bb1883eb694cd8fe48e0d89b627037a4dd. Measured receipt SHA-256: dd2419bef731bfb25b0b856149417d883710073cc6e5f34fe6426ef5b9c0464d. The diagnostic refuses changed frozen bytes and receipt overwrites. All 126 listed checksums across the three recovered archives matched; isolated uncommitted application/reverse checks and 18 postimage comparisons matched A/B/C0's own manifests. These are artifact/source checks, not native acceptance or permission to apply any candidate.

Current hosted readback still shows PR head ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39 with a verified SSH signature, frontend passed, and backend job 108581702145 stopped at missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, exit 2, after successful Python 3.13.12 setup. The full locked backend did not run. No credential, dependency, protection or native/live gate was weakened.

No source commit, push, merge, issue closure, primary-workstation change, service/run change or WSL operation was performed by this session. The configured workstation signer/service/CUDA setup remains inaccessible here. Keep this existing PR draft and preserve all original acceptance criteria.

Cross-repository readback after Layev PR #13 — 2026-09-27

Layev advanced during this readback. Its current main is e1db691cc7710ff808fa1220b16628c0d675d16c, following tokenizer PR #13. Fresh Git data confirms source 078eaf7195b118cdd5c907bc12b0c556d8dae32f has a verified/valid SSH signature and the merge has a verified/valid GitHub PGP signature. All five main jobs passed in run 36312254077. This session verified that existing delivery; it did not author, push or merge it. Earlier references to the v4 candidate as unpublished are historical. Do not stack or reapply the earlier v3/v4 patches.

Layev #2 now records workstation execution of the real pinned tokenizer gate: 36 literal cases passed, Python 3.13.12 / tokenizers 0.22.1, pinned tokenizer SHA-256 c0382117ea329cdf097041132f6d735924b697924d6f6fc3945713e96ce87539. The workstation reports 413 full-suite passes and 4 explicit skips (official SDK, CUDA FP32, CUDA BF16 and Windows symlink privilege). Those local tests were not rerun by this readback session. The same receipt states pinned model weights are absent and the installed PyTorch is CPU-only. Tokenizer success is not pretrained-weight, trained-checkpoint/serving, CUDA, context, representative-quality or producer-to-UI evidence. Layev #3 was updated to remove its stale tokenizer-construction blocker while retaining every native acceptance criterion and the existing dependency.

The TypeScript package and readiness documents are already merged through Layev PR #11 and PR #12. The original 45-feature matrix remains unretrieved in this runtime, and main still reports protected:false; the actual protection GET returned HTTP 403. These are still open acceptance gates, not reasons to reapply old delivered patches.

This remains the single draft, unmerged Overwatch integration PR, at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39; its cache and CI source commits are SSH-verified. Run 36305664862 still records frontend success and backend failure. The decoded backend job was read directly: Python 3.13.12 setup succeeded, then preflight exited 2, missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, before backend lint/tests. Overwatch #2 now marks only workflow/check visibility and setup documentation delivered; private-index authentication and the supported full backend suite remain unchecked. No secret was obtained/configured, gate weakened or unchanged run retriggered here.

Keep this PR draft until the fresh genuine producer -> collector -> raw-v2 cache -> cached_metrics -> report -> populated actual UI gate, recovery/browser/report readback, full backend suite and applicable authorized live-transport gates are demonstrated. This runtime did not access either primary Windows checkout, the configured SSH signer or running service; it does not certify current local clean state, worktrees or 0/0 divergence from historical receipts. No workstation files, WSL instance, run identity or remote transport were changed, and no Jev request was made. All requested acceptance issues remain open.

Layev publication retry safety — source repair, live gates still open

Related: Jev-Engineering/layev#10 and this repository's #5. No duplicate integration PR, source commit, push, merge or issue closure was created by this execution. The attempt to append these findings to Layev #10 returned HTTP 403, Resource not accessible by integration; that issue's body and acceptance boxes were not changed.

Confirmed defect and repair

At freshly inspected Layev main 6a99afde9df06be616a2ac75fb63e4e933bdfd96, publishing.py still has blob f363c888509ead09a01c17b1e39f819437cfdc33. It caches the W&B run before framework validation/setup succeeds. Using the actual source with an explicit SDK double returning a different-framework run, call one raises ValueError, but call two returns True and writes its summary without rechecking the rejected framework. Ordinary trainer retries after caught publication errors reach this path too.

The three-file candidate layev-wandb-retry-safety.patch has SHA-256 80e7726f7289d5c0afd0fa63acb430dc651708550ecd672ed0e7631624245597. It caches the handle only after successful validation/setup, rechecks the cached object's available config before writing, and adds 22 regression cases plus safety documentation. It changes no model, checkpoint, tokenizer, schema, dependency, S3 or Overwatch source. The patch remains uncommitted, unsigned, unpushed and unmerged and is included in the chat's jev-wandb-publication-safety-2026-09-27.zip review bundle.

Measured scope

Linux/Python 3.13.5 / Torch 2.10.0+cpu: the same 22 tests produced 13 failed / 9 passed before, then 22 passed / zero skipped after. Three cases execute real three-step CPU training/checkpointing with synthetic rows and injected publication failures, retaining checkpoint step, run identity and warning accounting. No actual remote exchange, run creation or finishing occurs.

The recovered historical source suite plus the patch passed 302 / 5 explicit skips. This is not the complete current-main checkout: later tokenizer/native/client/protocol suites are not included. Initial archive-layout failures and their correction are retained. Compilation, recovered 122-file source audit, exact indexed patch apply/reverse/postimage and conflicting-edit refusal passed. Ruff is unavailable; current-main locked and hosted checks for this patch did not run.

This is a local safety repair, not live W&B acceptance. Rechecking available SDK config is not a remote refresh or cross-writer atomic guarantee; remote failure outcomes can be uncertain, with no rollback or exactly-once claim.

Current delivery boundaries

PR #18 was independently merged in Layev during this execution; its five main checks passed in run 36330739508. The publisher target is unchanged. Do not reapply the already delivered tokenizer/native/client/source-gate patches. Layev main still reports protected:false and the protection read returned integration HTTP 403. This Overwatch PR remains draft at ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39; the private-index, full backend and fresh producer-to-visible-UI gates remain open.

Configured workstation SSH signing, full current-source checks and approved live targets/credentials are still required for delivery and remote acceptance. The Windows checkouts, running UI/report and signer were not accessible here; no local synchronization, clean-state or zero-divergence claim is made. No Jev/paid run, live S3/W&B operation, original-matrix reconstruction or WSL modification occurred.

New W&B response-guard candidate — source-only, 2026-09-27

Issue #5 now records two reproduced current-provider defects: malformed hasNextPage values can falsely mark a source complete/fresh, and failed Content-Length conversion can leak the opened response. Its original four live acceptance criteria remain unchecked; bug was added without removing evidence:unverified.

The three-file overwatch-wandb-response-guards.patch, based on this PR's ed825bf1c2c4c19eb3de99ad46564c5803bb4a39 head, adds exact-Boolean/continuation-cursor validation before accepting current-page records, response cleanup before ownership transfer, 66 regressions and documentation. SHA-256: 8c2c12a6804f58ccba3880ede554604429678cdf062147e9744f61167946b41a. Provider preimage Git blob: 19c5d510130537a6153bcafdc1ec4cc56b6b6dab.

Measured in isolated source copies: original 40 failed / 26 passed; candidate 66 passed; zero skipped. The actual provider and telemetry validator are used with synthetic pages and an injected opener; socket connections are forbidden. Compilation and exact patch/apply/reverse/overlap-refusal checks pass. Python 3.13.5 is below the supported minimum, and the unchanged preflight exits 2 accordingly. Ruff was unavailable. No full locked backend, live provider, cache/report/UI or native acceptance is claimed.

The candidate and receipts are in the accompanying chat bundle, not committed, signed, pushed, hosted-tested or merged. This runtime cannot reach the configured workstation SSH signer or primary checkout/service. Reuse this PR for reviewed signed delivery; no competing PR or differently signed API source commit was created, and existing cache/CI patches were not duplicated.

Direct hosted-log readback still finds backend job 108581702145 blocked by missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, exit 2, before dependency installation/lint/tests. Keep this PR draft until supported authenticated checks and its genuine fresh producer-to-visible-UI gates pass. No secret, run identity, workstation state or WSL instance was changed.

Independent readback and Layev vendor synchronization — 2026-09-27

This PR remains the single integration PR, draft and unmerged at SSH-verified head 5a7e4418bcebee9c9ceccca4837e04f881d57ecf. I observed the workstation source delivery; I did not create that commit or push it. Current run 36332662610 has frontend success and backend failure. I read the decoded backend job 108657460948: Python 3.13.12 installs, then the preflight exits 2 with missing_authorized_tscore_index_token, before locked dependencies, lint or backend tests. No unchanged rerun or merge was requested.

A remaining cross-repository defect is now recorded in Layev #10: Layev main 6a99afde9df06be616a2ac75fb63e4e933bdfd96 still bundles the pre-fix adapter and W&B provider. I prepared a seven-file uncommitted Layev-only candidate that copies this PR's exact repaired modules and regression files, plus pinning/installer tests and provenance documentation. It does not recreate either Overwatch repair or change this PR's source. Patch layev-overwatch-vendor-sync.patch, SHA-256 5f131803a5dc808ba73ad3c67216f7172f02cc4457d6ca27eb55229625c44570, is in the accompanying execution-response bundle.

Measured on isolated Linux/Python 3.13.5: the same 94 synthetic guard cases produce 48 failures/46 passes on the old bundled source and 94 passes/zero skips on the synchronized payload. Sixteen new installer/pinning checks pass, including an external-process rerun of those same 94 cases against temporary installer output with verified import paths. Repeated cases are not additional distinct coverage. Exact-predecessor upgrade, CRLF, backups/idempotence, unrelated/concurrent-edit refusal, rollback and unchanged revision/worktree guards are covered in added-file fixtures, not an actual primary checkout or the eight core-file transformations. Strict patch whitespace/application/reverse/postimage checks pass. The installer and hash allowlists are unchanged.

These are not supported locked backend, full Ruff, native/CUDA, genuine producer-to-visible-UI, live S3/W&B or Jev results. The full Ruff findings reported on #5 remain distinct from critical E9/F success. The original acceptance criteria on #2–#5 remain open. The configured Windows signer/checkouts/service are inaccessible from this runtime; no alternative signing identity, source commit, push, issue closure, run-identity change or WSL operation was performed. Keep this PR draft until the authenticated full checks and required live gates pass.
