The King Salman Global Academy, Saudi Arabia Railways and the Transport General Authority announced the second edition of معجم مصطلحات الخطوط الحديدية (Q141881807; the first edition stays Q141442247): about 200 new terms, 855 in all, with revised definitions. This updates ksaa_railway (dictionary 823) in place from a fresh Siwar export.

What changed

Terms 680 → 854 (one entry, برق, has no English equivalent and is left out)
Kept ids 664 (7 by lemma, 608 by lemma without diacritics, 49 by English)
Modified 664 rows: uri 664, arabic 657, description 562, english 16
Removed 16
Added 190

The edition replaced every entry id (so every URI changed) and dropped the vowelling of every lemma, so arabterm_import.py in ar-lang-dicts gained a diacritics-insensitive matching pass; without it 642 rows would have matched only through their English and 31 would have been dropped.

The 16 removed rows are terms whose Arabic and English both changed, or whose English the first edition gave to two different rows (e.g. two Equipment Removed), so no unique match exists. The 16 English revisions are mostly the official abbreviation appended (Full Supervision (FS), Safe Work Area (SWA)).

The dictionary's wikidata_id moves to the second edition's item, Q141881807, and its names follow that item's labels: معجم مصطلحات الخطوط الحديدية (مجمع الملك سلمان، 2026) / Dictionary of Railway Terms (KSAA, 2026).

Checks

  • make regenerate_dumps ran through (make validate first), README table regenerated.
  • summarize_changes.py on the old and new arabterm.db reports exactly the 190 / 16 / 664 rows of ksaa_railway and nothing else.

…54 terms)

The King Salman Global Academy, Saudi Arabia Railways and the Transport
General Authority published the second edition of معجم مصطلحات الخطوط
الحديدية on Siwar in September 2026: about two hundred new terms, 855 in
all, with revised definitions throughout. `ksaa_railway` (dictionary 823)
is updated in place from a fresh Siwar export: 854 terms, up from 680 (one
entry, برق, has no English equivalent and is left out as before).

The edition replaced every entry id, so every URI changed, and it also
dropped the vowelling of every lemma (رابِطُ إِعاقَةٍ كَهْرَبائِيٍّ became
رابط إعاقة كهربائي). Rows were matched to the held ones by Arabic lemma
(7), by the lemma stripped of its diacritics (608 — a new matching pass in
`arabterm_import.py` for exactly this case) and, where the Arabic was
reworded under an unchanged English term, by English (49), so 664 rows keep
their id and created_at. Of those, 562 gain a revised definition and 16 a
revised English (mostly the official abbreviation appended: Full
Supervision (FS), Safe Work Area (SWA); RACI's inline gloss became RACI
(RACI Matrix)). 16 rows are removed — terms whose Arabic and English both
changed, or whose English the first edition gave to two rows — and 190
added.

Derived by `wikidata/arabterm_export.py` and applied by
`wikidata/arabterm_import.py` in forzagreen/ar-lang-dicts. The dictionary's
Arabic and English names now carry the edition. The dumps were regenerated
with `make regenerate_dumps`, and `summarize_changes.py` reports exactly
the 190 added, 16 removed and 664 modified rows of `ksaa_railway` and no
other change.
The second edition of معجم مصطلحات الخطوط الحديدية has its own Wikidata
item, Q141881807 (edition 2, published 2026); Q141442247 stays the first
edition's. The dictionary's `wikidata_id` follows, and its Arabic and
English names take that item's labels: معجم مصطلحات الخطوط الحديدية (مجمع
الملك سلمان، 2026) / Dictionary of Railway Terms (KSAA, 2026). No term
row changes; dumps and README regenerated with `make regenerate_dumps`.
